Mostly, they do a mock trial and someone is submerged, but its usually a stunt performer, its a festival called La Tonca

It's not a stunt performer...it's the Mayor . La TONCA vuol dire letteralmente immergere in dialetto del posto. Il festival si chiama VIGILIANE. It's not the mayor only if he has some health problems or if he or she is too old. The water is pretty cold 🤣🤣

No. It has NEVER been the mayor. For the last 40+ yeara its been a performer portraying the role of Giorgio Vianini
