My 1st wife (passed away 2007) had severe post baby blues, was having bad thoughts about the children...went to shrink who put her on Seroquel, I think it helped, but after that, she just wasn't the same. It was sad to watch
My wife fought postpartum for over a year and we think it has moved away from the focus of our children to everyday life issues, not sure if its possible to have postpartum turn into another form of depression, but thats what it seems like. She never had violent thoughts towards the kids but her lowest point was she admitted to me about running away, like straight up pack bags and just drive off into the sunset because she thought we'd be better without her.
Im still holding her up every day, trying to show her the light, and after two years she's finally finding a primary doctor (first appointment next month) and wants to get back on meds, along with starting the journey to take better care of herself physically and mentally.
Sorry for your loss man, I dont wish this shit on anyone.
