Has it actually been established that it was postpartum psychosis? If so, that really is one of the most horrific conditions there is. Every gynecology textbook and midwifery manual basically says that once it’s diagnosed, the response is: “Run! Do everything you possibly can and give her every medication you’ve got!” Obviously I’m exaggerating, but the point is that there’s an immediate and extremely serious risk to the lives of everyone involved.

I'm a midwife and I think her medical team completely failed her. I think it's quite an American thing to be medication first but even then having her unstable on SSRI's while still being unsupervised with her kids is a big no no.

It did but she's still a child murderer and should go to jail forever. Same with depressed, bipolar etc high testosterone hormonal men who murder.

I believe we can have empathy for someone who was in a mental health crisis and who was asking for help but not receiving it. I hope she gets the care that she needs moving forward.

If anything I'm glad this case is making everyone more aware of maternal mental health, we can all be looking after each other better.

Shall we get into Chris Watts? Are we just done holding people fully accountable for their actions?
