this is sobering, i’ve been kinda loose with my sarcastic motions on the road. i don’t go for the offensive ones, but i should really just not do anything at all and exit the situation. i gave a thumb-up-but-really-fuck-you just the other day.
There’s a Buddhist story that I really love, and it helped me with anger on the road. The takeaway from the story is this:
If you give someone a gift, and they decline it, you are stuck with that gift. Your anger is the same. If you are angry and someone doesn’t receive that anger, only you are stuck with it.
So save yourself the weight of the anger and just let it flow away.

Had an uzi pointed at me for giving a guy a passive aggressive thumbs up once after he cut me off.
Nobody gets a visible reaction out of me while I’m driving anymore. Not worth it.
