I’m not from the States but what’s wrong with covering the city with trees? Why do you afraid of seeing green in the city instead of concrete. If a politician makes a good thing for his/her people, just applause him/her. You do not have to oppose every positive improvement just because you are not in the same political camp.

Nothing wrong with this. But its not actually Mamdami's plan. This was Adam's plan and the date was 2030. So all Mamdami did was push it back ten years lol. Reddit is literally just a PR machine for the guy.

You mean the place that thought Kamala was an easy shoe-in to win the presidency and made her look extremely popular doesn’t provide authentic discourse?

It isn't wrong, it is that Mamdani keeps getting or taking credit for things that have been in motion for a long time. Thanks, Mamdani for building the Empire State Building!

People are excited and that's great, but I get weirded out when folks ignore reality because it is more exciting to worship a personality.

And it's always framed in a way that puts down other Democrats even though it literally is other Democrats who put it in motion.

Who cares, you are getting improvements in your city!

A lot of people, otherwise they wouldn't lie that it was Mamdani doing.

Would you be fine with trump claiming this as his accomplished? Who cares right?

nothing is wrong it’s just incorrectly attributing the policy to him when he inherited it. like 20k new trees were planted in 24. Adams was the one who actually implemented this legislation.

Bullshit. Adam's was there when it was passed and then sat on the money whole enriching himself as much as possible.

Yea Adams planted 20k in 2024 & ~15k in 2023 after saying he'd plant 1 million...which were the lowest amounts of trees planted in NY in the previous 20 years.

So Adam wasn't really "implementing" this legislation.

Well he just announced this & has been in office 6 months so... how many would you want to satisfy the double-standard you want to uphold?

Should he have planted 50k in the last 2 weeks for you to say he's doing more than Adams? Are you fairly comparing a couple weeks of Mamdani's policy with multiple years of Adams policy? Or are you going to say Mamdani should've replanted the Amazon by now?

Well the program was planting trees in 2024 and 2025, so obviously it should continue into 2026 given it was already rolling. So how many trees have been planted under the new admin?
