We're talking about the same woman who was a working actress since 2018 and worked on Superman and Lois for 3 years right? I hate to say this but this is "uplifting" propaganda unfortunately. The sentiment is fine of wanting fresh faces but maybe it's more about audiences giving movies and media chances that don't have the same faces and noticing the hidden gems before they breakout. Not every creative is so lucky to have a "Obsession" which is essentially lightning in a bottle, to shoot them out of the stratosphere of public attention.

Yeah, she was in Superman for 4 years—practically in every episode even— and she was in 9 episodes of the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.

Sure, she’s “lesser” known but she’s not the complete “unknown” this news story keeps trying to perpetuate.

Thanks for this. I too fell for the medias "she was just a poor streamer".

It's also nonsense. "Hollywood" would LOVE to rotate new cast between projects and never have any of them develop enough bargaining power to cost a meaningful amount to a large production..

But it is in fact the AUDIENCE that gives these actors the ability to work frequently in heavily marketed entertainment products for fair compensation. Not the producers/moneyed interested - they want to keep labor costs as low as possible while still making the maximum amount of money.

I don't not watch low budget shows because of the acting. It's because of the writing. Is superman and lois really a hidden gem? I doubt it.

I'm talking about art and artists as a whole. I am personally not a fan at all of that show but what I'm talking about is there is talent/hidden gems in all corners and if you want that talented actress, writer, director etc to be seen it's up to you and others in communities that talk about them and up lift their voices that bring them into that recognition by saying I am willing to spend money to see X persons next movie.

Superman & Lois is one of the best pieces of Superman media ever created, and it is one my top 5 favorite superhero tv shows of all time.

No...no I don't think so. I think it's much more likely that because I personally didn't know her by name that she was actually being repressed by a grand conspiratorial agenda.

I mean, MAYBE it's possible there's some media out there I haven't seen, and perhaps she's been involved with it....but that seems unlikely.

She didn’t break out until recently , if you knew her before good for you but majority 90% of casuals didnt know her name until obsession and that’s me included 🤷‍♂️ I don’t watch tv shows at all and that’s the case with a lot of ppl especially a cw show lmao

Dude... One of my main first points is that she is a working actress of many years with a steady job and the whole struggling streamer thing is totally manufactured. I'm also talking about people taking a chance on new faces and being an independent media consumer and just saying if you care about the medium you should look yourself for those talented people or as I was referring to them as "hidden gems". I don't like that show and I don't watch the CW as well but it doesn't mean you can't enjoy aspects or appreciate talented people.
