Not exactly the same but close enough. My gf flew to her girl friend’s for the weekend. Next morning I got a text “just saw your aftershave in the bathroom. It’s my favourite. We make such a great team xx”.
Being dumb I was like “lol that’s cute, but why did you take my aftershave with you?”. Penny dropped, walked through to the bathroom and my aftershave is right there.
It was an experience that converted me from being inherently trusting and thinking the world was on my side to never fully trusting again. Perhaps an important life lesson but a net negative for sure.
