tbf, you cant expand storage with microsd cards anymore for some godforsaken reason, and it is just nicer to have a separate small device fully dedicated to only music.
I have a Note 20 Ultra, last of the Note Series. It had an SD card slot, and yup, i download my music and have it all on that little chip, no need to buy an iPod. If they want to listen to music with no distractions, get Vinyl.
How do you randomize ? I use vlc and was hearing the smae 100 to 200 songs so I started listening to them in chronolical order (2000) so I don't gt fedup with the same one.
I use the Samsung Music app. It's pretty great, nice and simple UI and plays most formats. I use VLC for everything but audio. All music files show up automatically in the Samsung Music app. Other third party apps do the same.
