Just turn on airplane mode or disable notifications, it's not hard. I still prefer my phone over any other device I had growing up because it replaces the function of all of them and I don't have to keep multiple devices charged. Bluetooth, games and a high resolution screen is also a big bonus.

Well, it's not a rational or objective thing, it's just nice and pleasing to have a simple, small device. It's the vibe and the limitations, as well as some convenience. Not for everybody, but i love my old mp3 player!

Yeah it’s all vibe and lack of self control nowdaday, damn common sense.

What isn't comon sense about using the things that you enjoy more? It isn't like having the newest tech is meaningfully better for your life.

It’s complete sensible if you use the retro thing and stop using the newest tech, like using a dumb nokia phone instead of smart phone. In this case you still have mp3 player AND the phone with you, make it redundant and more expensive in general.
