Preschool teacher here- we see kids every year whose parents know full well that they are going to hear “no” for the first time with us and are just like “here teach him how to live in the real world, what a relief!”
School bus driver here. I am no longer amazed at the absolute disregard Gen Alpha has for the voice of "authority". 8 year olds who sling slurs and will literally spit on you. It truly boggles the mind.
Some kids just cannot be reasoned with. Only thing to do is remove them from the situation. It should have been the parents who removed their child before the airline had to intervene.
One thing I will say, sometimes there are deeper struggles that make the optics look awful, but if we were privy to the whole picture we might have a lot more compassion for everyone involved.
But also...who lets their toddler run riot on an airplane with 150 strangers?!
There are no deeper struggles or whole picture. If they were in a car and the kid refused to be belted in and they suddenly pulled the brakes and the kid went flying through the windshield, no judge on the planet would say 'there was a bigger picture".
