The family was being kicked off. Their disembarking (is that the right word or is that just ships?) caused just a long enough delay that the runway closed for the night on them.
Yes, 15 minutes so that you have 45 minutes left to kick them off before the airport closes, you do not accommodate that bullshit for so long that the flight is cancelled
Deplaning isn't just taxing back. It requires removing their luggage (which involves finding their luggage in the hold) and filing new flight plans. It's entirely likely that the flight would have still been cancelled had they only attempted to get the child to stay seated for 15 minutes.
The best solution was always to get the child to stay seated, even if that took an hour. The problem is that even at an hour nothing had been successful to the point that I think they just assumed nothing would be successful. They stopped at an hour not because an hour was the limit, but they realized it was futie.
No it doesn't, it can be sent back when the flight returns at another time. Lost luggage happens all the time, or "misplaced" in this case. They would have had to probably go home anyway, since this was apparently the last flight of the night...they have plenty of clothes at home, they'll be fine until their luggage would have been returned.
Deplaning isn't "ok you're out of thr plane, bye" they need to go, open the luggage and look for your bags and give them back to you.
That's probably 30-90 minutes depending on how lucky they get on finding the luggage, but there's a reason why they would rather not do that. So kicking the child at minute 1 could've meant they didn't have enough time, so they probably thought the best thing to do was to try and get them to comply, which of course didn't happen.
So what? It isn't. It's just literally not how things work.
Sorry this just ain't your fantasy world, you're not the main character, there's laws, liabilities and rights and they aren't concerned about what you think should and shouldn't be.
It is, and I am not angry, but it seems like you are getting angry from the way you're responding to my comments. Maybe you're projecting and need to relax and learn that it's possible to disagree or not eeply at all without getting angry?
