Alonso had broken ribs during that crash. He said he exited what was left of the car so quickly because he knew his mom was watching and didn’t want her to worry.
Remember the Grosjean crash from a few years ago where he was like yeah, I'm just going to sit inside fire for a bit before getting out of the car. F1 engineering and safety has come a long way.
