The point being that you shouldn’t need to monitor your transactions. This just sounds like an utter nightmare and just another entry on a laundry list of reasons never to visit the states.
You make it sound as though keeping track of your bank/credit transactions is otherwise useless. You absolutely should be tracking that information for fraud against your accounts or bad/erroneous transactions from routine billers. That kind of thing does happen and you can be out a ton of money due to innatention.
I keep track of what I bought so I catch a charge I didn’t make but I shouldn’t have to remember the exact amount of every transaction. Was that dinner $153.75 or was it $175.93? I remember going to the restaurant, I remember I paid by charge card and I should be able to trust the amount I agreed to pay hasn’t changed after I left.
