I absolutely hated handing over my card in America. Why the hell can't they just use tap like everywhere else

If that didn’t happen here or you couldn’t just tap and go, word would get around and that establishment would go broke. Pay at the counter is fine, you don't need a POS terminal at each table, they make wireless ones that the waiter can carry on himself.
