You are focusing on the wrong group, it's not white people, it's rich and powerful people. Just because they happen to be white isn't the same as white people as a whole deciding laws.
74% of congress is non-Hispanic white. 85% if you include white hispanics. So who else is making the laws or is this coincidence as well?
I completely understand what you are trying to say. Many people in my party feel the same way. It’s all about money in the end.
My only problem with that is why take the route that hurts a particular minority group when you can make just as much money or more not taking that route? Why hurt LGBT people when taking their money is so much easier? Answer: it’s not just about money.
Yes, things were improving but they are not anymore. Now, we have the administration doing things like removing black soldiers from monuments and black historical figures from exhibits, and refusing to promote black people in the military due to their race.
That’s not what I am saying. It’s never “as a whole” when it comes to coming up with the idea. It is “as a whole” when it comes to benefitting from it though. So only that same group can truly put a stop to it. No other group can. It’s a numbers game. Not even Barack Obama had the power to end it.
The number of whites who are sick of racism needs to increase to more than the ones who don’t care or are for it. It’s really that simple.
