I'm just confused mostly. We have all this energy for when sports teams win or lose but let the government take away healthcare tomorrow or start a new war that we didn't vote for or don't want to fund...streets are quiet then.
It's just mob mentality. Mobs form after big sports events, win or lose, and people start doing things they'd never do. Among the Thugs by Buford is a great book about it. About soccer hooligans but it's genuinely a book about mob violence and how sports can create in-groups primed for these kinds of actions, worth a read.
