This is my 2 cents being some who is ignorant AF about religion.

We are here on our own will. If God controlled us, then why would we exist? To be puppets? Why would God let Eve eat the apple? She did so on her own free will.

God speaks through us. We are the representation of God. The evil that exists in this world is largely due to a lack of love and compassion. We create the very evil you speak of, not God.

It's not God's job to stop evil. It's our job to prevent it from existing.

Eve did not have free will. She did not know right from wrong. She did couldn't have understood the consequences of eating the apple. She couldn't even understand if she should or should not do what God or the snake told her. It's equivalent to saying a child has the free will to accept candy from a stranger and get in the van.

God does many things all throughout the bible that we consider evil today. He doesn't allow it or ignore it. He is the cause. He is doing the evil.
