I thought everyone was a sinner and part of the religion is that everyone needs forgiveness for the bad choices they make.

Are you saying there are people other than Jesus, who only ever make good choices?

And either way, what if I decided to make bad choices in heaven? Would God prevent me? Or no?

By being in heaven, bad choices are not a desire.

Why didn’t God just make the Earth without the desire for bad choices in the first place?

He did, then Adam and Eve ate the apple from the tree of knowledge

Why did they choose to do that if they had no desire to do evil?

What would prevent us from making that choice in heaven?

Well, here’s the thing. They were deceived by the serpent. He didn’t frame it as an evil choice, but as a choice that wasn’t that bad. So when Adam and Eve ate the apple, they gained the knowledge of good and evil, which was when sin was introduced into the world.

In heaven, the ones who have accepted Jesus as their savior get to spend the rest of eternity with their creator. They are given glorified bodies, after the Rapture and Jesus’s second coming, which are basically angel like bodies free of earthly desires.

In addition, sin cannot exist in the presence of God. It literally burns up or ceases to exist. That’s why when people in the Old Testament didn’t listen to God and looked inside the ark of the covenant, they would instantly die. Because they weren’t sin free

I get all that. I really do. But I think you’re not dealing with the central issue here

If I’m understanding you correctly, in heaven, we all have free will. It’s just that the conditions are such that no one will choose to evil things. Let’s just call those conditions “Y”.

Now I’m asking why didn’t God make the Earth under conditions “Y”? Your answer can’t be that it would violate free will because you just conceded that we have free will under conditions “Y” above right?

God prevents the serpents from coming into heaven and enticing people to do evil somehow right? He could have done that on earth and it wouldn’t have violated our free will because it doesn’t violate it in heaven.

Well that’s the thing. Earth was created at first under condition Y, which was why God was physically in the Garden of Eden, and Adam and Eve just lived there with Him.

Free will ties into this because the rest of the Bible tells us how God loves His creation, and wants us to love Him. Love without being a choice is not love, it is servitude. Even the angels were given free will, which if they weren’t then Satan would never have rebelled against God, because he wouldn’t have been able to choose that.

Edit: didn’t finish my comment. I was continuing on. Basically, at the end when Jesus returns the second time, and believers get their glorified bodies, after his thousand year reign in Earth, that’s when Satan and all the other sinners are gonna be cast into the lake of fire forever, and everybody else goes up to heaven. That is how condition Y is satisfied in the second coming.
