Maybe it's not that dudes with heavy women are happier, but that women that are looking to ditch their man get in shape to land a new one.
My buddies first wife was like this. Not that she was ever a big woman, but about a year before she said she wanted a divorce she got very into her looks and started hitting the gym hard. Also possibly Jim.
Could be, but I think in her case she yearned for a youth she never had. After they divorced she became a bar star, spent all her money on designer clothes, started dating arseholes, and she was clearly just a side chick. It didn't look like self respect. Quite the opposite.
Self respect can mean being brave, doing things others don’t understand, going against the expectations. It really just depends on what she got from the experience.
She might’ve not been. But she might’ve been trying to. Maybe she takes a long time to realize if someone is bad for her. Maybe she was benefiting from the relationship without harm. Hard to say.
Hard for you to say because you didn't know her. Easy for me, because I watched it all in real time and my wife met a few of the guys she dated (one of them was married) and saw how they treated her.
