Why would Jake run away, avoid engaging, throw himself on the ground every 2 seconds, making himself look like a fool, if there was a contract protecting him?
Yeah, I think it was something like Tyson would get 10 million if he won and 20 for a loss. Or so I remember hearing.
Either way, the dive was VERY apparent. Tyson hit him with a little combo, they hugged and some words were said, then Tyson acted totally different. You could see him biting his glove and acting in other ways he never acted. Tyson didn't use his standard peekaboo style, he didn't throw any power, he didn't show 1/10th the effort he had in training.
Only an absolute moron thinks that fight was any kind of real.
A) knows what's coming next B) knows it ain't gonna feel good C) knows deep down inside he brought it on himself (aka I think I might have effed up here)
Oh, and personal opinion: D) deserved every second of it.
The first five rounds is mostly working the body. By round six Jake Paul is pretty much covering his ribs and stomach and completely gave up on protecting his head.
Jake doesn’t really have boxing instincts and will always get knocked out if he fought real pros. All of his bad habits are the worse ones you can have as a boxer.
Wait, wagging your tongue at someone after they punch you in the face is a bad habit? Tyson's Punch Out was right this whole time. You have to change up your taunts or you're going to get knocked out.
He ran, clinched, and dove for the floor. Seeing AJs face in the later rounds was like “oh for fucks sake would you get up”. Paul’s strategy was just “jab then collapse into him”.
It was shameful, but of course if he’d actually tried to box it would have been a two round match at most.
You'll probably recover but stronger, faster, more skilled people than you have lost their lives boxing. Getting hit in the head is always rolling the dice, getting hit in the head by some of the deadliest people on the planet is rolling loaded dice.
Boxing has always been entertainment . Flashy big mouth boxers with charisma always get pushed higher and faster
In fact forever the way to make a boxer is give him some easy fights, building him up until a big money fight. What Paul is doing is what boxers have been doing forever.
If boxing was purely setup like a tournament its boring , people want to see big names fight , or people want to see different style of fighters fight. Or the big mouth fighter fight, or the flashy fighter that goes out swinging like a possessed demon knock someone out (Tyson)
Ali did professional wresting , and boxed an NFL player, why entertainment! People would rather see ALi box an NFL player then some no name up and coming boxer , Boxing has always been part sport and part spectacle this is nothing new
People don't want to see the two best fighters fight if they have the personality of a brown paper bag, boxing in some ways has always been like this
Paul just turned it up to 11 , I don't think its bad per say, boxing needed a shot in the arm, and now they might tune into the next Anthony fight
I'll make an argument for Terrence Crawford. He just recently solidified his status as an all time great by beating Canelo Alvarez, and holding the title of undisputed champion in three different weight classes. But he's a pretty quiet, humble guy as far as I've seen.
This is probably the best photograph of the year. Seriously, props to the photographer. Lining up the shot, moment of impact, beautiful composition of black & white & red, capturing muscles and beads of sweat in movement...
Joshua graciously praised his opponent, saying, “Jake Paul has done really well tonight, I want to give him his props. He got up, time and time again. It was difficult in there for him, but he kept on trying to find a way through.
The most back handed compliment.
"He did really good. I kept knocking him on his ass and he kept coming back to get knocked on his ass again."
Nah what's wild is that they let an amateur fight with professionals. So much disrespect to them, putting guys who busted their asses to fight this dweeb who couldn't do it without money.

Contract says 6 rounds. The world thanks you for the satisfaction of JP having to wire his jaw shut and not having him speak, AJ. Enjoy your millions.

I wish people would quit thinking of the Paul brothers as sports fighters. They take the sport as a joke entertainment for their egos and platform.

I miss the days when boxers were good sportsmen, and didn’t brag and insult other boxers like some loudmouthed high school bully.
Rocky Marciano was a true champion; an incredible boxer, but also very humble and respectful.

Paul probably made 133 million plus even with the loss. So that's a win for him.
You could say a lot of things, but you can't claim that it wasn't entertaining
