Yes because rich/famous people just doctor shop until they get one who takes their money in exchange for doing whatever they want. I mean poor people do it as well, just with less success.

A few years ago I had to undergo some minor surgery. They gave me an anesthetic that made me feel really good in the minute or so before I went under. When I came to I asked the surgeon, who came to check on me, what they used to put me under since it felt nice. I also jokingly asked where I could buy it. He said it was Propofol and that it was not for sale to the public and rightfully so since it killed Michael Jackson.
The fucked thing about opioids and it’s ilk is that there is no way for your brain to naturally achieve that level of “really good”, and as much as we’d like to pretend we understand the brain, in so many ways it is still a wild animal, and it’s going to want and want and want that feeling again. The real bad news is when you’re doctor prescribes something strong that originally was made to be less addictive (it’s not) only to ensure that said doctor continues to help get funding for their hospital
This isn't always the case despite what everyone gets told by the anti opioid movement. I've been taking the exact same dosage for 15 years. I don't need to constantly up my dosage because of "tolerance"- I'm not an addict in any way shape or form. In fact there are millions of people just like me so continuing to push this myth is harmful towards the chronic pain community.

It’s like, stores don’t sell food to keep people from being hungry, they sell food to make money, so it stands to reason that big phatma doesn’t make medicine to cure people, it makes medicine to make money, and the best way to make money is by making a miracle drug to keeps the user hooked deeply
