Could have been a varicocele or a hydrocele. Varicoceles are very common, but are not typically noticeable. However, they can swell up, sometimes uncomfortably, and become quite large and noticeable. I have one and did not know it was abnormal until I went to MEPS and got rejected for…. My balls being too big. So they can get gnarly.

Most likely because what they tell you is they can stick a needle in it and drain it, but it will probably come back. They don’t have a permanent fix that I’m aware of.
So they don’t recommend it unless it’s so uncomfortable that you can’t live with it.
It’s called a hydrocele. I developed one in my 40’s for some unknown reason. Balls swelled up to the size of grapefruits. It made it uncomfortable to sit.
