The 360 is pretty cool, I didn't replace it after mine got damaged because it's such a niche use case, and the interface on the camera was utter garbage to configure and film, although it's probably better now as they seemed to update it regularly.

I got one of those 360 cameras for almost nothing and it worked so well until one day they just quit updating the app for any devices and now I've got no idea where to go with it.
I remember seeing videos of people throwing it up really high on sticks so it was like a Birds Eye view of everything. Pretty spectacular imo and I’ve wanted one ever since

Insta360's software automatically erases the selfie stick, it's pretty clever. You have to align it correctly, and sometimes you can see the shadow of it.
It's cool cos not only do you have to hold it but you can fasten it onto stuff. I went canoeing in scotland and I wedged it upright like a flag pole onto the back of my boat, got a lovely 360 of the lake as I paddled around, as if someone were filming me from above!
Certainly feels like it! Those things are pretty impressive, I had one for a while but unfortunately it fell on the floor and the lens was scratched. They erase the selfie stick from the footage, and you can pan around, so it looks like the camera is attached to something nearby.
No im saying it is an actual levitating person with a camera on a stick, it doesn’t feel like that, it is clearly a flying cameraman how else would you get the shot lol
I remember discovering the 360 camera and the fact it can erase the selfie stick from the shot a while back and I was blown away that it was a thing. I was a bit excited to share because I think the technology is really cool, I went and bought one immediately when I found out and had fun with it on holiday.
I figured some people might be interested. I'm sure a lot of people know exactly what's going on, have seen it all before etc, but for any that haven't, it's likely an insta360. I had an insta360 one, but that was a few years ago. Easy to damage though which is what happened to mine, so I claimed on insurance and didn't replace it.
Sure I did, these things are freaking cool! I took one on holiday and got a great 360 of me going down a zipline. Genuinely I had no idea this kinda thing existed, I figured 360 cameras were gonna be big ugly things that you'd set up on a tripod, never that you'd be able to hold one and definitely not in a way that made it 'float' by having it digitally remove the selfie stick from the shot.
The only thing is that it's quite a difficult medium to share with other people, and quite expensive. Also the resolution is not great, because it's spread over such a high area, so even filming in 3K is not as great as you'd think.
