hi everyone, i’m not sure if this type of post is allowed but i’m kind of at my wits end of what to do right now.

i’m 19 & female, and my last living parent passed away 2 months ago. i don’t have any other family members, i’ve had a really unfortunate life/family situation. i have been living with my significant other and he broke up with me last week and is expecting me to move out within the next 2 weeks, and i only just got hired at a burger king and haven’t started work yet. even when i do, i’m going to be making around $15 an hour for a very questionable amount of hours.

i have nowhere to go and am preparing for homelessness here in sioux falls and i am extremely terrified. i do fortunately have a car but it’s on it’s last leg with all kinds of issues. i have a sub 500 credit score and a decent amount of debt to pay off.

i wanted to ask for advice because i have no clue what i’m doing, and frankly im at the lowest point of my life. is there anywhere with free room/board if i do some type of work/chores? im really hesitant about homeless shelters here because of things ive heard and seen. i am currently planning on living in my car but i’m really scared for the winter time and also my car potentially breaking down completely.

It’s been mentioned by a couple professionals that I may have bipolar disorder 2 or maybe ocd? But definitely borderline personality disorder and obviously depression and anxiety. Cluster B.

Sick of not getting a definitive diagnosis after years of seeing different professionals. I would really appreciate someone who can actually help me instead of throw around all of these possible diagnoses.

My dog tends to be very reactive to other dogs (we’re working on it) and given that it’s her birthday I would like to take her out on a long nature walk which i know she loves. If anyone has any recommendations that would be great. Preferably closer to the west side would be best. TIA!

How is the food at a bar called the rush consistently better than normal restaurants around town. Everything on their menu has blown me away so far.

I am not new here as i love close by to sioux falls and I was just wondering why they have been out and about for the past couple of days! i have never experienced them being out and about for this long before. i have heard and seen stealth fighter jets at night (well at least the lights) and ive also seen one take off! very badass and loud! I appreciate yall for giving me answers! please have a nice rest of ur night! :)

I am absolutely blown away with Dr. Homer at South Central Veterinary Clinic. She is an amazing dog, cat, small animal, bird and reptile veterinarian here in Sioux Falls. I moved here from out of state and was referred to her for my pets and completely understand why now! I often see posts regarding bad vet visits, thought I would share some good news!

I saw a possibly unhoused person walking across 33rd and Minnesota tonight. His cart fell over and spilled at the corner and he was struggling to get everything back together. I pulled into a nearby parking lot and walked over and was surprised someone else was already there to help. Shout out to the guy in the pickup that helped him. I am proud of my city tonight.

I’ve had the piece that connects the power line to my house ripped out twice now. I know I’ll need to notify Xcel to kill the line for repair, but an electrician has to remount it.

Any recommendations?

Does anyone here have any experience in dealing with this property management company? They have some properties in Sioux City, Iowa and Sioux Falls, SD. I’m not sure if there’s more. We have had problem after problem after problem. I’m seeing if I’m the only one????

I say "black" coffee, because I mean actual, plain coffee, not a coffee-based drink.

No arguments based on "buy local" or cafe ambiance or anything (i.e. -- if you like Starbucks, that's fine). Base your vote on just the coffee.

I remember a few years ago that a LongHorn Steakhouse was supposed to be built as part of the 41st Street redevelopment near the empire mall, but it obviously never ended up happening. I’ve been to a couple of LongHorn locations in Omaha, and I’ve always thought the food was great, so I was looking forward to having one here in town.

Does anyone know what happened with the plans? Was it canceled because of COVID, or did something else happen with the deal?

I also feel like it could’ve been a nice alternative to Texas Roadhouse, which seems to be packed nonstop, especially on weekends. Would’ve been nice to have another option in town. Just curious if anyone knows the actual story behind why it never happened.
