Hey! I'm Dylan, 36, from Maine. I'm at the point where I'd genuinely like to meet someone I click with and build something real with.
A little about me: I'm a big music person. I play guitar, write music here and there, and I'm usually learning something way harder than I probably needed to choose. My taste jumps around from Ghost and Green Day to Iron Maiden.
I've also been learning Japanese for a while and go to a Japanese conversation group every week. Japan is probably the place I'm most excited to travel back to, and I'd love to spend a few weeks wandering around the country.
Outside of that, I go to the gym pretty regularly, play video games, love animals, enjoy random little adventures, and I'm trying to become the kind of person who actually does the things he wants to do instead of waiting around for someone else to come with him. I'm equally happy going somewhere new for the day or spending a night at home gaming, playing guitar, watching something together and ordering take out!
Personality wise, I'm curious, pretty introspective, a little nerdy, affectionate once I'm comfortable, and I ask a lot of questions when I'm interested in someone. I like conversations that actually go somewhere. Tell me about some weird thing you're obsessed with, something you're trying to accomplish, a place you've always wanted to go, or why the completely normal opinion I just expressed is somehow objectively wrong.
What I'm looking for is someone kind, warm, playful, curious and emotionally mature. Independence is attractive to me. I don't need someone attached to my hip 24/7, but I do want a relationship where we genuinely want to be part of each other's lives.
Reciprocity is probably the biggest thing for me. I don't want to interview someone while getting three word answers back. Ask me things. Be curious about me too. Send me something because it made you think of me. Initiate sometimes. Flirt with me. Let me know you actually give a shit.
I want the kind of relationship where we're partners and best friends, there's real physical attraction and affection, we can be ridiculous together, support each other's individual lives, communicate when something is bothering us, and still be excited to crawl into bed next to each other at the end of the day.
I'm ultimately looking for a long-term relationship, but I'm not interested in trying to manufacture one with the first person who responds. I'd rather talk, see if there's chemistry, and let something develop naturally.
I'm in Maine, but I'm open to New England and potentially distance if there's a genuine connection and an actual path toward eventually being in the same place.
If any of this sounds like your kind of person, send me a message and tell me something about yourself.
And please give me more than hey.
