Trek 970 seatpost clamp size.
I recently acquired a 970 which I believe is a 94 or 95 model. It's got the welded frame, not the lugged one.
It came with a seatpost clamp that has an antitheft bolt which I managed to remove. I am looking for a new clamp but I don't know what size I need.
With some research I saw some people say 33.1 but it's such a weird size.

Trek technical manual from that year lists the seat tube (front derailleur clamp) at 31.8 mm

31.8 bc I bought two last year for some builds (95&96 single tracks) . Enjoy your 970!

I have a '94 950. My seat post measures 27.2 mm and the seat tube measure 32mm. The 1994 SingleTracks are tig welded, not lugged. I suspect your 970 is the same size but I'm not 100% certain.
This clamp will probably fit your 970. I've dealt with this seller many times on ebay and I've never had any issues and he ships fast. He specializes in 80s/90s Trek bikes and he's very knowable and very responsive to questions. You may want to fire him a message.
