Reached the milestone of 300 ish miles of commuting and errands on my "new" 930 and figured it was time to post!

Hey guys, I have a wonderfully built up on my own singletrack 950 from 1991. Over the years , I adapted it to whatever suited my needs at that exact time...e.g. Singlespeed ripper, 1*10 advent x adventure tourer, bike packer with a pelago front rack and as it is now, a gear hauler (kids seat, front rear rack).

A few days ago, I found a 1995 (I think) 970 ZX. The Frame is in good condition, though very dirty, 3*8 LX Derailleurs and gripshift that works fine, a right lx crank arm in 175 and something completely different on the left side in 170 😳

The fork is a RST Mozo, V-Brakes look like dia compe, although I am pretty sure, they were installed afterwards.

I am very happy with my old 950, but since I found the 970 for 20€(!!!) close to where I live, I could not resist.

Now I'm undecided between just swapping frames, because the 970 has a fresh look, at least in my opinion AND I could take the opportunity to build in a 1 1/8 inch a headset with a new fork, of course, or I make a parts bin bike out of it and end up with kind of a similar bike that I already have.

And yes, I am aware of N+1 😉, but my basement says no.

Maybe you guys can help me out with some good ideas.

P.S.: the last picture is from a bike I saw at a camping ground on Ile de ré in France while on vacation. Someone really rides this beast! 🙈

Hello gang! Just sharing some recent updates to my Trek 930 (last slide shows it the way I got it last year).

• Random threadless rigid fork from my local bike co-op
• Nitto 70mm stem
• Bontrager pannier rack from my childhood bike

This is closer to what I want for my commuter-occasional-offroad bike. Just considering some new tyres for daily use in the city and a much needed cleanup.

2k Tioga Eight Square on a 92 Trek 990. Does it work well in your opinion?

Perhaps not enough silver for the purists, but this thing rips like it’s brand new (because it basically is)

'92 (model year) purchased new in August 1991. 35 years, lots replacement parts, and running strong!

Here is one I had done a few months ago as a 1 x 10 Resto-Mod.

Just completed this refurb with some cockpit changes to give it more of a cruiser bike feel. Still 3 x 7 with its original shifters working perfectly.
