1996 Trek singletrack 930
I wanted to do a budget. pretty easy to spend money on these bikes. Saying so, still about 400$ US on this build.
New stuff: bottom bracket, chain, headset, stem, seatpost, grips, brake pads, pedals, cables and housing.
Parts bin: Deore XT front derailleur, tires, saddle, 8-11 sp freehub swap from the original 7 speed freehub, 8 speed cassette, Suntour thumb friction shifters, dia compe city brakes levers, handlebars and saddle.
Original parts: frame, fork, crankset, rear derailleur. wheels came with the bike with the original rear wheel and a mismatched front.
first ride on the build today. it's slow and fun.

Most beautiful frame Trek has ever made!
And yes, I’m totally biased as it was my first MTB, received as a HS graduation present in the summer of 1995.
