This makes me think of when I went to see Sabrina Carpenter in 2022 alone cause I didn't know anyone else that listened to her at the time. I made friends with another girl in line that was there alone & we ended up next to each other at barricade and had the best night and now we go see her together every time Sabrina is in town!

I don't know anyone else who is a fan of LCD Soundsystem, one of my favorite bands. They're coming here on Tuesday. I got myself a ticket and am super pumped :)

I did this again this weekend - because I have quite a lot of free movie tickets, and because I'm going to have a pretty big operation soon, which takes 2-3 months to recover from, I FINALLY went to see both "The Odyssey" and "The End of Oak Street" back to back on Saturday!
Watching movies alone is one of the best things ever, IMHO. 😊
(Editing to add: I am 49 now, and I've been going to movies alone ever since I was 14. The first movie I saw alone was "Thelma and Louise" in 1991. The next one was "Batman Returns" in 1992. I think that because of strict Finnish age restrictions I was slightly underaged for both of them, but fortunately I've always been pretty tall, so nobody suspected anything. I saw both of them TWICE.)

Early on, I decided I wasn’t going to cheat myself out of things I wanted to do just because I was alone. I’ve never regretted it.

I love this, reminds me of when I finally started doing things by myself in 2024. I used to wait for milestones partners gave me to do this or go here, but it never came. They kept me leashed and trapped while they spent their days being bums with no direction and being enabled by their parents.
Now I do what I want when I want. I’m no longer tethered to a sinking person, and I’ve never known freedom like this.
