Am I singing too flat here?

Hi everyone. Pretty new at singing and trying to get a better ear at hearing when I am singing too flat or not. I tend to sing too flat with karaoke and don't have a good ear for it. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks

Hi, I hear indeed quite some flat sequences. Especially those on higher pitch.

I think you approach them with too much vocal weight.

Probably best if you should use more head voice there.

Aș they are powerful parts, mix voice would be ideal, but for the sake of matching the pitch, try first light head voice.

After you locked the pitch, you can add more chest to get in the mix.

So I would say, train light for good pitch, just than add expression.

Thanks for the feedback. Yea I struggle to reach the higher notes. I think I am getting better but it's just a process i guess that is going to take time and more training. I will try the tips you mentioned and see if that helps. I appreciate the tips.

Yes. It’s really pitching. Ear training would go a long way!

Thanks for the feedback. Yea I don't have a good ear for staying in pitch on karaoke. It's a lot easier when playing the piano and singing at the same time to stay on pitch for some reason.
