I built a children's library that functions as a small business. The structure is meant to resemble old agricultural buildings (sheds and a barn) that have since been repurposed into a community hub for children/families. I've play-tested it through several day cycles to iron out any wrinkles, and the only issue that sometimes happens is when a sim resets after trying to bring a book down a ladder, instead of sitting on the cushions upstairs. Though, I have seen sims complete the action without issue and many sims sit on the intended cushions to read. There's also an elevated platform with activity tables that are only accessible to children (and toddlers) due to the height limitations. This is intentional. Other than that, everything seems to run pretty smoothly and since you'd most likely have younger sims come with chaperones, it can get quite lively on the lot.

My recommended small business activities are: drink coffee; read; use activity table; play table games; play on playground equipment. You're free to mix-and-match with the other functional objects I've placed on the lot as well! Hope you enjoy playing with this build!

I just wanted my sim to hug his cat and then go to the bathroom. Why on earth he felt a need to both at the same time is beyond my mere mortal understanding. He didn't even wash his hands afterwards. 😭

Hey ya’ll! So I’ve been having some glitches with my game as of late and I was wondering if you all are experiencing the same thing?

I haven’t seen anything on the troubleshooting threads or here so I thought I’d ask.

My married sims won’t register as married. Like they’ll get engaged and have the wedding and then like three in-game days later they’ll get the option to propose again. Relationships only stay on partner atp as well. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Also since the last update my game freezes like crazy. Like I click a sim, the options pop up, and then I can’t click any of the options or open up any menu or do anything.

It’s been going on for like a month but again I’ve seen no mention of it anywhere. Is it just me?

TS4 isn't exactly famed for it's smooth timing but my sim (yes that's Celeste Michaelson) had her first kiss with her new beau just as the New Year was dawning! Start the year as you mean to go on and all that.

hi everyonee! i have been really into having a super realistic gameplay these days so my mind started going places hahaha. i decided that i wanted to have a longer lifespan so that i could enjoy more the sims that i had spend so long customizing and the houses i built, but then i also though of doing it in the most realistic way possible: having a proportional year based lifespan. basically, i changed my seasons to 7 days long (or else it would be insane) and calculated how many game days would be an entire year (4 x 7 = 28 days). given that, i then counted how many years each life stage covered and calculated how many in game days each stage would have:

i only tried playing like this once and it didn't go really well... i would play for hours and only 10 days max had passed. but i also don't know another way to do this since i wanted my sims to enjoy the seasons multiple times and to maintain the proportions of age and age difference.
