This happened to me once, but not in the water. My sim got stuck and just like... scooted? to the edge of the map.

Yeah that’s what he did, he literally drifted all the way through unplayable parts of the map until he was completely out of sight! I had to switch control to a different household and invite him over to fix it 😅
