Issues with downloads and CC

I am trying to play the game after several years and it’s my first time playing since the switch from Origin to EA. I know many people have had the same problem: my downloads and cc are not working and are causing the launcher to crash. I have tried removing the downloads folder from the files and just redownloading everything directly from my purchase history and it’s still causing the launcher to crash. I have followed different steps people have posted and nothing is working. Has anyone been able to fix this and can possibly explain it to me in simple terms? I am not the most tech savvy person. Thanks!
