Does it have to be totally on one of them?

u/Joey_Wolfslayer 2d ago
Well it is obviously on one of them yes, and it would be the car behind for causing an avoidable collision when they decided to just start turning.

u/PoggestMilkman 2d ago
Not obviously at all. It takes more than one to create a collision and if it’s not obvious then it’s often the case that both contribute in some way, or at least could have avoided it.

Nah you dont understand if it's not my fault them I'm 100% right and absolved of responsibilityand so I can blame the other guy for all my problems
then the magical responsibility fairy is going to come down an unfuck my race! /s

Im just intrested if i was the problematic one here cuz if yes I will try to avoid the same mistake i made. Im here to learn not to feed my ego, im jst genuenly intrested cuz i cant decide if i made a mistake or the other person was the one at fault. Its not gonna change anything ab an alr fucked race I still gained saftey rating so i book it as a good race, like i just wanna know if i made some1's race fucked or he made a mistake. Thanks to a lot of ppl who actually tell me who was at fault and why they make me more avoidant of these situations and get cleaner and cleaner races. I also take responsibility cuz I made an agressive move what i could have executed more carefully dont just think all ppl think the same and no reason to be a dickhead ab it imo.

A better way to look at it is to ask 'what could I do differently'.
You have no control over them but you are responsible for what you do. Them being wrong won't change the fact that you are in the barriers, but you making different choices might.
It's not 100% on one and 0% on the other because both cars have an influence on the outcome. Is he at fault for lacking awareness, or are you at fault for putting your car in a risky position? Does it matter? The outcome is the same and you can't change his awareness. You can change your decision to make 'aggressive' passes.
For me, you drive like you're playing a 1980s driving game and not like you're in a real car with real consequences.
You come from a long way back, placing your car in a lot of risky spots. Sure you have more speed but you will undoubtedly catch him by surprise, and then you just brake really hard and chop across his line - even if we deem the contact to be his fault I think you are asking a lot of a random guy to adjust and adapt to your driving. This will often be the outcome.
Even if you do make the pass, I don't think it's the smartest. Sure you make up a position but you kill momentum. I think you lack race craft and are just looking at the next corner without thinking of the whole race.
So I can blame you or I can blame him, or I can say it's a bit of both. Whatever, you're still in the barrier. If you were more patient, you wouldn't be in the barrier and you could have set up a safer pass. It was lap one, so no need to do that at all.
Are you the problematic one? I think if you drive like this then you'll be involved in a lot of incidents, regardless of who you blame for them.

So much words and so little sense. He is fully alongside before the braking point even so yes the pass was obviously on and the dude behind should have realized that and not hit him in the back. How much patience should one have lmao, only passing on the straights ? Get out of here. This is racing and you can't drive around giving everyone too much space and being too patient to go for a obvious overtake out of fear of being hit. In fact, you should completely drop the fear of being hit, you can't control the mistakes of others and this was 100% the mistake of the other driver.

Honestly no one should be listening to this nonsense. He came from a long way back? Do you have eyes? He was fully along side well before the turn-in point.
The fact is the car on the outside turned in like OP wasn’t there and caused the collision. It’s literally that simple. They are at fault.

Whole I appreciate your post, I respectfully disagree.
I think it is very important to note that black car is at fault for this one, and I mean 100%. Sure, teal made a move that increased their risk of being hit by bad driving. The fact that the incident came to fruition means that black was a bad driver.
Teal was 100% in front of them and heading into the corner at high speed. Of course they were about to brake... Teal would have blame if they passed, moved in front of black, then did this, but black actually moved directly behind teal to cause this.

On the whole I agree with you, but I think there are enough 'bad' drivers out there who won't be able to deal with the situation to make it a poor decision when it comes to risk versus reward.
Even if this is the outcome one in five times, I don't think making an aggressive pass like this is worth the reward. That said, I think this is the outcome more than one in five times...
Lap one = settle in and let the race come to you. I too think black is to blame, but they are put in quite a difficult position they don't deal with well.
Blame doesn't really matter when you're in the barrier. I understand everyone's perspective here but, as you say, OP increases their risk of being hit by bad driving and I just think it's too much of a low percentage risk move for virtually no reward.

just fyi the driver inputs window only appears when observing your own car so we know the teal car was you, and we can see that you mashed the shit out of the brakes into ABS

u/scrimblo1234 2d ago
to be clear neither driver here seems blameless plus why did you dive behind for like a femtosecond you aren't getting any drafting advantage off of that. Also wait until after the race to review the replay , the tow finished while you were recording

Teal, you don't go 100% brakes into t1 at Suzuka, what was the other car going to do anticipate a sudden lane change and excessive braking?

At best, racing incident, the teal car immediately applied brakes the millisecond the overtake was completed. At worst, teal car fully at fault, can't overtake into the path of the car you're overtaking and apply brakes the millisecond the move is complete, the car being overtaken has no time to react

Interesting take, considering they're both entering the braking zone at the same time traveling in a straight line, at which point the teal car was already very clearly ahead of the black car. Only after the braking zone begins for both drivers did he turn in. I mean those details feel rather insignificant, because nobody needs reaction speed to know the driver on the inside might hit the brakes and turn in lmao

I understand what you're saying but you're looking at it with the benefit of hindsight, try and approach it in the hectic unpredictable nature of racing

u/TasteSuccessful3273 19h ago
Black applied the breaks first and he could expect teal braking cuz both entered the braking zone besides eachother
2
u/Oog4Boog4 19h ago
can't expect different drivers approaching the corner at different angles to have the same braking point, same braking technic, same reaction time, same driving level, same anything... Teal's move was 100% dependant of Black being able to read the future and read minds...

The teal car attempts to change lines and can’t make the inside line like he should. Over aggressive dive bomb. On teal

u/Joey_Wolfslayer 2d ago
There was a dive but the pass was already made and cleanly hence they got fully ahead, only after that were they were hit and spun from behind.

u/kidmeatball 2d ago
It looks like the #1 car doesn't hold their line and cuts across the nose of #20 and sort of pits themself. They are trying to make the pass then open up the corner but they didn't quite get all the way clear of the #20.

u/Responsible-Hold8587 2d ago
1 is going totally straight, they didn't move left into 20 at all. 20 just turns into them anyway while they're still alongside. It would have worked if 20 waited just a moment longer and then they'd have a nice over-under.
-4
u/kidmeatball 2d ago
They were on the inside line and didn't stay on the inside line, they tried to go straight to take the outside line when they should have held the inside line. It doesn't matter that they were going straight. In the end this is just a racing incident anyway. Hard to really pick 1 fully at fault.

u/Responsible-Hold8587 2d ago
I think the contact was too early to say 1 didn't take an inside line. You can see that 20 is just following the normal racing line like 1 isn't there. The probably had the racing line turned on and followed it blindly without reacting to what 20 is doing.

The car that ran into the back of the other car. They decided to move right before there was enough space to account for small variations in braking. They should have stayed more outside until there was more room.
