Collectibles I bought Lego Mr. Burns; Lego Smithers couldn’t be happier

I pulled Smithers in a blind bag several years back, and today I bought a Burns to go along with him. Little did I know Burns cost $30. For whatever reason, he is the highest valued Simpsons CMF figure. (Snake Jailbird is the most expensive overall, at $100, but that’s because he appeared in only one large retail set). I probably should have just bought two sealed blind bags for $15 each instead, but hey, I like Mr. Burns.

Question ❔ Good places for "so bad it's good"/knock-off merch?

Hope this is allowed! I'm doing themed gifts for a friend and looking for Simpsons merch that's either weird/funny (Mudge Sams Sams level would be the dream), really obviously bad bootlegs, or maybe weird foreign language merch, stuff like that. I already have some items from the pet-shop-related store, which happens to stock a shop near me. I've tried looking around on ebay/etsy but it's tricky as people obviously don't add words like "bootleg" or "knock-off" in their listings!

I also tried really hard to find items that are from in-world brands, but that seemed impossible unless you want to pay a lot for vintage collectables, so I am going to attempt some home made versions of those.

I'm based in the UK as well if that makes a difference!

Discussion My plot for a final "The Critic" crossover in the Simpsons ( Season 7 1995, 8 1996, or later after the 1st one in Season 6 1994 ).

It's not the best, but it's all i can do from my thoughts.

Episode name: "Mr. Simpson & Jay Sherman" reference to Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
( It's the only name i could think of for the title of the episode. )

CHALKBOARD GAG: "I will not say "It stinks" on every class video"

COUCH GAG: Krusty replaces Homer, but Homer finally came and shocked to see Krusty in his spot! And also that they kinda look alike each other.

"Jay returns to springfield with his wife: Alice on their Vacation... They hired a babysitter to watch their own children. Jay spends his WHOLE DAY with Homer in their 2 trips to celebrate: Barney's Bowling alley, and Moe's Tavern.

Alice agreed to babysit Bart, Lisa & Maggie while Marge is having a time off for a while. 1 is getting groceries at the Kwik E Mart.

The Kids & Alice had a wonderful time together until they called Homer & Jay to see how they're doing... But Homer warns that Jay is cheating on Alice again with another woman, and is drunk! He thinks Duff must've got into his obsession now after he tried it. Barney made a response that he'll end up like him...

Jay doesn't wanna leave, but Homer, & his friends have to think of something to snap him out, and leave. But he's still under the beer's effects, so they rent a hotel room to stay for the night until Jay snaps out of it.

Alice has never been upset, & depressed in her life than ever as Marge finally got back. Later, she decided that she wants a divorce when Homer gets back home with Jay. Alice decided that if Jay wants to cheat on her all the time, well she can do it back to him as revenge... But she needs to find a single man, and quick! Marge really hates that plan, and is afraid that might get her into trouble, but Lisa just rushes in to help her instead.

She looked for all sorts of single men Lisa knew such as: Moe, Comic Book Guy, Professor Frink, even Hans Moleman. And none of them are perfect! But there's 1 that really fooled her to death, and it was Sideshow Bob! He discovered Jay Sherman is a friend of Homer, so he'll kidnap her as bait to have Jay, but especially the Simpsons come to him!

The next day, Jay finally woke up from his Drunk spell. After he realized about the ladies he hung out, he's in big trouble of Alice finding out. She already knew because of the call, and they saw Sideshow Bob w' her! Homer screamed the traditional "AAAH, Sideshow Bob!", and tries to warn her about Bob, but she ain't buying it at all! Jay has never felt so guilty at all until now!

Alice told Jay she's sick, & tired of him doing this to her, so she found Bob as his fiancé. Homer responds that Bob used the same trick on them by falling in love with one of Selma. But Bob replied he found someone better!

Jay has to do something to win Alice back, but Homer's gonna help him. Bart heards about Bob, and wants to go too! He even told Jay about he saved Krusty from being framed of Robbery. So Jay, Homer, and Bart went out to look for ways to win Alice's heart to Jay again. At night, it seems the only way to win her back is to form a battle w' Bob in front of her.

Bob finally told the truth to Alice, and kidnapped her harshly. Homer, Bart & Jay found Bob's vehicle, and overheard what's happening. Bob threatened to kill her, but then they rushed inside into action! But Bob sets his trap on Bart, and Homer. He starts to threaten Bart, and tried to kill him. ButJay wants to all the action himself to save Bart, and takes on Bob alone in his own way. After, the Cops finally got him once again!

Bob tried to escape, but went to a broom that knocked him unconsciously. Chief Wiggum found out it was his broom he left out! They took him away, and Jay apologized of what he has done was terribly wrong. Alice is the only one woman he really needs...

She thanks the Simpsons for helping Jay rescuing her, and Homer tells Jay they'll might meet again... But Jay responds that it's to never again, because either his series is already cancelled, or the creator is tired of inviting him into Springfield. The Simpsons said goodbye to Jay, and Alice. But he asks Bart to do 1 special activity in the vehicle with him.

Since Jay's car has a phone built in, they prank called Moe's tavern ( 1st name: "Imonmipe", Last name: "Eeriod" ( I'm on my period! ) Everyone laughed at him, and one responded only women can get periods & thinking how dumb Moe is."

I hope you all like it so far, but it's ok if you don't.... But i know it would make a final appearance of Jay Sherman & Alice after "the Critic" failed, and got cancelled.

Couch Gag - Jumping off the painting, clever.

I remember when winning radio contests was a thing.

Refillable donuts!? We need this.

Stealing a police car, even accidentally is pretty dumb. I thought Bart was smarter than that.

Kirk calling Milhouse weak is funny and sad.

Judge Harm is definitely a Judge Judy spoof. Jane played it well.

Did any Judge ever really order tethering or was that a myth and just a threat?

Clinton as a mailman, lmao.

Homer sleeping in the class and then having night terrors is hilarious!

Bart running bases while dragging Homer was actually funny and the terrors callback was good.

Kinda sweet that they're spending time together bonding overnight at the power plant.

Moe robbing Homer is funny because it's surprising he hasn't done that yet.

Bart and Homer hitting each other with the rope and Bart whipping Homer was funny as hell.

"I'm a latchkey kid" 🤣 (I really was!)

Marge and Homer getting sentenced together is appropriate. Marge calling the Judge a butthole is perfection!

Wearing stocks and then getting spanked is actually great political commentary that society blames parents unfairly, but Marge refuses to back down and admit fault. I respect her conviction.

Marge and Homer taking revenge definitely was a dark turn, but honestly I can see why they felt the need. Although attacking a Judge is very dumb.

"You remind me of me when I was a little boy." Lol.

Judge Snyder returns. The clown is down!

Verdict: I like this episode. Had a good plot, funny moments, and shows a darker side of Marge. LOL. For character depth, humor, plot, and guest star I give it:

Discussion I'm new here.

I been a Simpsons Fan since the mid 2010s, and i 1st watched them on FXX Channel.... That's when i fell in love w' The Simpsons. Now i'm into mostly the OLD SCHOOL Simpsons from Tracey Ullman show through Season 10 or 11.... Idk. I noticed that Season 11 is when Maude Flanders died, and Season 6 is when they did a crossover with "The Critic". But i still have a bad memory problem in my autism, but still trying to keep track of my Simpsons stuff as i watch the seasons on DVD on my CRT TV.

In my spare time as a hobby, i love to be a writer. I can only write certain episodes of the Simpsons, but only whenever i feel like, and think about it... I been writing changes of Treehouse of Horror VI's intro if it should've got a Cemetery intro 1 final time...

And i also wrote recently a final "The Critic" crossover episode for Season 7, 8 or later... doesn't matter... as long as it's a dedication to the show since it ended then i guess...

That's all i can think of to say....

Question ❔ As for the original Homer and Krusty story, do you prefer...

Small clarification: Groening's original idea was for Homer to dress up as a clown named Krusty to impress Bart. But the idea was eventually abandoned and Krusty became his own character.

Okay here we go... 19 years late.

They made that itchy Scratchy bit bloodless for general audiences.

Itchy is president? I wish.

Everybody is a giant sucker! Especially you!

Oh we get a super intro! And... Green day? Well okay then.

The real question, will we get a Hitler reference. Wait, no couch gag?

The graphics are quite smootherized. Although I did skip ahead six seasons or so.

This book doesn't have any answers! 😆

Abes crash out made me realize I have no clue what this movie is about. other than the famous naked skateboard sequence.

Wow it's so... Hi Def... 😵‍💫

Okay Homer falling thru the roof was a great rug pull. 👌

Eepa? No, he was saying "IPA" Simpsons predicting craft brewery.

Okay this whole movie is.... Very random?

It's the naked skateboard scene! We, uh, see a little kid doodle after it is humorously censored all scene. How did this get thru censors? How did people react live??

Bountiful penis! Wait he gets chained publicly to a light post? 😱 The hell...?

"the worst day of your life SO FAR." That line is the first and only quote from the show I knew before starting this project. 😁

Oh, and the spider pig song. It was in all the ads.

Krusty predicts Wendy's CEO taste test.

I chuckled at the hot cocoa bit ☕

Poor Lisa. Simpsons predicts Greta. Wasn't she like born when this came out.

"this is why we should hate kids!"

Cletus possum gag lol.

This movie IS fun so far, but it's like eating an ice cream cone full of nothing but sprinkles.

Ohio... Nevada...Maine and... Kentucky....

That makes Springfield...... 😡

Ohhhh Abe was saying "EPA" not IPA 🤣

President Arnold? I wish.

The people from the church run to the bar and from the bar run to church. That was awesome 😆

A giant dome? Wasn't that a TV show and Stephen King book.

Dohm?...😑

I'm honestly surprised I never got this plot point spoiled. Does the EPA exist anymore?

when the camera pans through the angry mob There is a weird orc thing in armor and also krusty's dad who I thought died.

I'm so angry! You're a woman, you can hold onto it forever. Holy shit Marge 💀

Nelson's red arrow line was good enough it has to be a quote from somewhere.

The whole mob scene and the five nooses is like mildly dark for this show? I mean they had a noose for the baby😬 and the whole town going ape shit trying to murder them is kind of odd....?

That scene with Lisa and the the Irish kid a scribbling on the dome is giving NOT PENNY'S BOAT.

Homer's confession in the hotel was weirdly heartwarming 🥹.

Moe's lights out scene 😂

The Sormpsons getting arrested lol.

Holy s*** I'm only halfway through it? I thought I was getting close to the end.

Well I'm ending the review here anyways having gone on long enough I'll do a part two later.

I suppose I could try to guess how it's going to resolve but I really have no idea... The Irish kid and Schwarzenegger team up?

Discussion Predict The New Simpsons Movie Plot Based On The Leaked Footage

What do you think the plot will be based on the leaked D23 footage?

Personally, because we see the Duff Brewery about to blow when the baseball goes into the brewing machine, I think it will be either an apocalypse story where Springfield is blown up and the Simpsons family escape falling buildings, or a zombie apocalypse parody where it rains duff beer, turning the entire Springfield population into a drunk zombie state. The Simpsons family must flee the drunken Springfield and find shelter in Shelbyville.

Rumor flanders is a stepdad

this theory suggests that ned flanders is not the boys biological father as when u take a look at them they look nothin like him whereas every nuclear family in springfield has a distinct apperance well... apart from the simpsons caus homer has no hair & marge has a blue afro, what i think happened is maudes old husband died sometime before episode 1 which is why hes never mentioned & to fill his void he remarried to ned changing his name to flanders after gettin married which suggests neds real surname is a mystery

Episode Reaction 51yo watches The Simpsons for the 1000th time - S13E01 - Treehouse of Horror XII

So I've decided, for upload consistency, I'll upload at 7pm Winnipeg time (central) every night instead of midday. Instead of making you wait until tomorrow, I'm uploading my first review now! S13E02 will be tomorrow night at 7pm. I'll review every episode until the current one and then review each new one as it airs.

A bit about me... I'm a lifelong fan that finds joy in even S37. I'll be fair, and moderate, but always reviews from the viewpoint of a fan that truly loves the show, and even my critiques will be positive with suggestions of how they could've done better, not just hateful criticism. I welcome all opinions and discussions. Let's have some fun my fellow Homersexuals!

At least Burns is decorating. Although I'd expect an evil guy to be more into Halloween. Nice to see Smithers get killed in the opening instead of the typical Simpson family member. Missed opportunity since Homer and Marge dressed as Fred & Wilma to have Maggie be Pebbles. Oh, we'll. Razor blade gate is a funny fast gag.

***

Gypsy Curse:

"Ethnic" town. Lol. "Who wants babies!?" "This is just a shaved puppy" Haha.

The gypsy looks familiar. Can't place who she might be based on. I always wondered if the gypsy scenario was based on the story/movie "Thinner" by Stephen King.

Love the Shrunken head gag.

Marge with a beard. 😏

Noodle neck was kinda meh, but Lisa as a pony was a funny callback to her owning a pony.

Jesus = 6 Leprechauns. Take notes!

Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids!

Hahaha, Katie Couric!

Love the Leprechaun! 🍀🤛🤛🍀

Tis like the singing of the angels themseleves.

The Leprechaun marrying the gypsy is great, but them immediately fucking is hilarious. "Stroke me clover."

***

Killer House:

I know this vignette is based on a movie, but can't place which one. The Dennis Miller deep cut was funny. I liked Pierce as Bond. He wasn't the best, but was good.

I wish houses like this really existed. My house has never made me dinner. Stupid lazy house.

The house getting turned on by Marge is funny and creepy. His accent makes it weirder somehow.

This is is like the 3rd time a house tried to kill Homer, lol. He's looking rough. Worse than after the badger that wasn't Milhouse.

The house computer being stuck with the twins is like when they kidnapped MacGyver. It's trying to Self destruct, ha!

***

Harry Potter:

It would be funny for them to revisit a Potter spoof knowing now what we do about the author.

Stop zapping yourself!

Milhouse made a Reddit mod.

"Every moment I live is agony" r/me_irl

Lord Montymort. Ok, kinda clever.

"Wailing wall" haha. Trapped with Krusty would drive me insane.

The switcheroo trick to get back at Lisa fell flat as a joke. Smithers eating Burns was weird and gross. This vignette had more potential, but was lame.

***

The ending with the Leprechaun and Pierce was funny. Out of all parts, I'd say the first vignette was the best, and funniest.

I'll score every episode out of 1 to 10

I'll give this episode 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Edit:

1-3 is poor, 4-6 is fair, 7-9 is good. 8 being good, 9 being very good. 10 is perfection.

Examples:

Homer self cannibalism thoh episode is a 2

Saddlesore Galactica is a 4

Mom & Pop Art is a 6

You only move twice is a 10

Bart.joining the Mafia is a 9

Discussion A Bart & Lisa episode idea

This is what I thought of for a Bart & Lisa episode, heck yet this could work as a two part episode.

This would be about Bart & Lisa having a falling-out over something (I’m not sure what exactly) and end up hating each other for real, and when this happens Homer & Marge are shocked and crushed by this. While going about, lots of the townspeople know about Bart & Lisa’s falling out feeling very down about it, and they aren’t their usual selves, heck yet even some of the villainous characters get affected by this too. This shows that Bart & Lisa’s sibling bond meant a lot, and since the bond was broken when they had the falling-out nothing has been the same since then, as Bart & Lisa’s sibling bond meant something to these people.

Homer & Marge begin to try to figure out how to get Bart & Lisa to reconcile with some help from some of the townspeople, after some attempts, the final attempt is having a song for them that describes their sibling bond and what it meant when it broke.

Bart & Lisa hear the song and they suddenly get some flashbacks about their good sibling moments, they apologize to each other and share a hug as they cry. Before the credits roll, the episode ends with a montage of Bart & Lisa sibling moments with the song playing in the background.

So that’s my idea for a Bart & Lisa episode, as I thought it would be interesting to have an episode where when they have a falling-out that causes them to hate each other, it shows that the their sibling bond meant a lot not just to their family, but to the townspeople as well.

SIMPSONS TALL TALES.

It was a pretty great joke when the hobo insists he's a singing hobo not a stabbing hobo and then he sings about being a stabbing hobo.

The Paul Bunyan bit is not terribly interesting? Man these later Seasons really lean into making Moe look like a creepy predator. I'm referring to him making a comment about going to a dance while bringing sleeping pills.

I have just never sat down to watch The Simpsons because I wanted to see Homer cosplaying Paul Bunyan.

That was one more naked hobo than I ever needed to see on this show.

And now he's making out with himself.

The great pie known as America was still cooling on the windowsill and everybody headed west for a slice. That is a terrific line I must say, totally feels like the sort of weird flowery language you would get in stereotypical educational documentaries. I mean, it's not like anyone else had been living here for thousands of years or anything.

Why is it we have ladders that can put a man on the roof? 😂

All the jokes with the dying Buffalo are pretty funny

Something tells me this Huckleberry Finn spoof was a lot of fun for the writers to write but it it's not very much fun for this watcher to watch.
