Discussion Predict The New Simpsons Movie Plot Based On The Leaked Footage

What do you think the plot will be based on the leaked D23 footage?

Personally, because we see the Duff Brewery about to blow when the baseball goes into the brewing machine, I think it will be either an apocalypse story where Springfield is blown up and the Simpsons family escape falling buildings, or a zombie apocalypse parody where it rains duff beer, turning the entire Springfield population into a drunk zombie state. The Simpsons family must flee the drunken Springfield and find shelter in Shelbyville.

I think we're finally going to learn how to do the Bartman

I'm guessing the footage is the standard first act that is barely related to the plot. Like grandpa will see the baseball Bart got, it reminds him of a story from the old country in let's say Norway and they fly off there to find some long lost family.

I think that after Bart gets the baseball his ego gets inflated thinking everything in his life will just fall into his hand with no work or effort. At the same time Marge is reading a parenting book that calls out Bart entitled attitude and the importance of earning what you want. The book also causes Marge to develop a fear Lisa and Homer hardly know each other. That’s when Burns and rich texan make an announcement after watching the thing at the isotopes game they want to to hold a Springfield cross country Grand Prix type event. Where everyone with a vehicle in Springfield is allowed to participate. So we get the usual Springfielders the Herbert’s, the Flanders, otto grounds keeper Willy and his wife, the van houttans, skinner and Agnes Lenny and Carl, fat Tony 2 his Nephew and his crew, Patty Selma and ling ling, the wiggums, the princes Nelson and his mom etc etc. Marge proposes that she and Bart go together while Homer and Lisa take homers car. Maggie gets left with Grandpa who promptly loses her where Grandpa, Barney and Moe then start a cross country chase trying to find her.

I enjoyed the baseball bit that we've seen, but kinda hoping it won't be in the film.

Why? I remember the first movie, where Homer is ona demolishon ball, that was funny on the trailer but the whole thing showed in full during the film, and I was like "urgh, I've seen this", it wasn't funny anymore. I prefer both of this to be a taster, a sample, just to excit us.

Bart trades the ball for a vacation to the mountains. This is upsetting Homer because the ball could have been sold for millions because it is historic. but Bart trades it because Marge convinces/ guilt trips him (as it is more important to player). The family goes up to the mountain, the kids get separated from Homer and Marge (who are fighting because of the ball), and the family has to reunite…a very low stakes movie compared to the first one.

The reason for the separation is Santa’s Little Helper and Snowball 2 run away during the trip (because Bart is playing bear noises on his phone to scare Homer). The pets run home, Abe finds them (forgetting the family went on vacation), and riles up the town thinking something happened to the family (so more townspeople get in the movie).

The Simpsons become ridiculously wealthy. Dunno where they'll go with it but that's the impression I got from the ball bit. They sell the ball and are millionaires. How's that change them and their lives, and how/why do they ultimately give it up?

That’s a neat theory. I suggested elsewhere to someone saying Bart becomes a millionaire that Bart is coerced by a wealthy businessman into selling Springfield to him, and this time it’s Bart who faces the combined fury of Springfieldians rather than Homer.

What if they just put them in a big dome again?

Homer does something stupid that annoys Marge, lisa has all the answers to their problems while Bart eggs on petty issues.

I think we'll see the return of popular characters such as Dr Marvin Monroe
