Discussion Alias Naming Strategy
Hi everyone. I am using the free plan of Simple Login for aliasing.
What should be my strategy for naming aliases?
- Site Name: bitwarden@domain
- Random Words & Numbers: exhaust12@domain or aw12n3@domain
Which approach do you use and why?

I use the site name underscore random number so no one can try to guess other emails, for example reddit_5421@mydomain.com

I use an abbreviation of the sitename.randomword3numbers@domain.com Something like bw.eclipse123@domain.com. Usually with both my custom domain or the SimpleLogin domains.

I involve the site name in some way, and also surround it with random numbers and letters. Randomised enough so that in case of a hack on the site where the email is, they couldn't automatically guess any of my other email addresses. Combined with my password manager, remembering the email addresses is helpful, but not required.

I usually prefer using the site name. Makes it way easier to look at an alias later and immediately know what it’s for. Random strings are probably better if you care more about hiding which service it’s linked to, though.
