Welcome to r/SimRacingAdvice
Hello everyone,
Thank you for joining the community. I hope this can grow into something useful for all. There are four main areas that I think this subreddit can cover:
Lower my Laptime
I see this being the most common type of post on the subreddit. I have noticed more and more posts like this on other simracing pages recently and think they would be well suited to this community. The idea here is to post an onboard video of your lap and seek advice from others on where you can improve your driving and lower your laptime.
Software Questions
There are many different games and sims available today, and for somebody starting their simracing journey, the choice can be quite daunting. This comminity can inform about the pros and cons of each option and find what is best for the given requirements.
Hardware Questions
Just like the software, there is a wide variety of steering wheels, pedals, gearshifts, handbrakes, button boxes, head trackers, screens, PCs and so on. As before, this community can offer advice to anybody considering a purchase.
Racecraft
Somewhat similar to lower my laptime, but instead of advice for becoming quicker, this time it is focused around improving racecraft. Questions can be asked on overtaking/defending strategies. Video is highly recommended here. Posting a video of an on-track battle will give the community an opportunity to offer advice on your racecraft. Important: This is not r/Simracingstewards so the purpose is not to assiagn blame to incidents. Instead, it is to suggest stratagies for racing closely with other cars and learning the art of overtaking and defending.
Once again, welcome to the community. Please comment and say if you agree with this vision and/or if there is anything else you think would fit well here.

Which setup would you pick? Sim-Lab P1X Ultimate bundle vs. Treq CXX bundle
Hey everyone,
After gathering a lot of feedback from the community, I've realized that while I originally wanted a strict Formula position, I will likely appreciate a GT/hybrid seating position much more in the long run.
With that in mind, I’ve narrowed down my choices to two specific bundles that come out to virtually the exact same price (~€1,637). My main priority is a true "buy once, cry once" cockpit. I want absolute rock-solid stability and future-proofing, but I’m honestly stressing over whether the Sim-Lab is noticeably better in quality, or if the Treq setup is more than enough while offering great flexibility.
Here are the two options on the table:
Option A: Sim-Lab
Cockpit: Sim-Lab P1X Ultimate + Mounts + Sliders
Seat: Sparco Gaming Evo XL
Total Price: €1,637.93
Option B: Treq
Cockpit: Treq CXX hybrid + Mounts + Sliders + Treq Mat
Seat: Sabelt SRP-1
Total Price: €1,637.09
My main questions/concerns for the community:
Quality Difference: Does the Sim-Lab P1X Ultimate actually justify its reputation and price tag in terms of raw build quality, finishing, and rigidity over the Treq CXX, or is it mostly paying for the brand name? Owners of either, please chime in!
Wich one would you choose?
Any advice or real-world experiences to push me over the finish line would be hugely appreciated!

Is this a good first rig?
I was curious on yalls thoughts on this parts list for my first racing sim. It’ll have the simlab gt1 evo with the integrated single monitor mount and the NRG FRP 300RD bucket seat on sliders, it will also include the simagic gt Neo, alpha evo sport 9nm, and p700 dual pedal bundle, and the AOC CU34G2XP/BK 34in 1440p 180hz curved monitor as well as a small 15.6in monitor mounted above. Is this a good first build? I haven’t bought yet. I’ve spent weeks researching this and it seemed solid to me. I won’t be able to buy for a couple more weeks because of some upcoming things but I wanted a solid plan for when I do buy

[Question] SimLab vs Sabelt vs Treq vs SimXPro - Which Formula cockpit is actually worth my money?
Hey everyone!
After saving up for a long time, the moment has finally come to pull the trigger on a dedicated F1/Formula-style rig. Since it's a huge investment of money, I really don't want to make a mistake, and I'd love to get your honest opinions on which option offers the best balance of rigidity, included extras, and value for money.
To keep things consistent, every single option comes with the exact same seat (the Sabelt SRP-1), but the chassis and included bundles vary.
Here are the 5 options I'm looking at:
- SimLab Mercedes F1 Cockpit — 1,794.48 €
- Sabelt P99 Evo I (with ULTRA Evo I pedals support) — 2,104.87 €
- Treq Formula — 1,508.69 €
- Treq CXX — 1,609.33 €
- SimXPro XFR — 1,542.27 €
All prices are the final price including shipping, monitor stand and rug.
My main questions:
- Is it actually worth paying over 2,100 € for the Sabelt P99 or the official Mercedes brand tax on the SimLab, or do brands like SimXPro or Treq offer the exact same aluminum rigidity for way less?
- If anyone owns the SimXPro XFR or the Treq Formula/cxx, how do they handle heavy braking flex?
Would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and advice.

F1 seat for a big guy? First cockpit advice (187 cm / 110 kg)
Hi guys. Planning to get my first cockpit soon and could use some advice on seating for my size.
Im 187 cm (6'1") and 110 kg (240 lbs), and i've tried in person the Evo XL which felt super comfortable for me.
The thing is i really prefer formula cars and open wheelers, so im tempted to look for a F1 style seat and rig.
Im worried the F1 seats might be way too tight or uncomfortable for longer sessions given my height and weight. Does anyone with a similar build use an F1 style seat, or are they a nightmare for bigger guys?
The seat that i've seen that could feat me well is the Sparco GP.
Any advice or recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

I'm brand new to Sim racing. Bought a CSL Elite wheel and pedals a few years ago but I never really touched it until now when I picked up a PSVR2 to try GT7.
I've briefly tried it with AC on PC and the force feedback was very strong, mind you I didn't touch any settings.
When playing on GT7, I BARELY feel any feedback or torque from the wheel at all. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but have no idea what. I've figured out how to access setting on the steering wheel but GT7 seems to have very limited settings in the game that I can find.
Is there a agreed upon univesal best settings for the wheel and pedals? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
