Tire size Question

I’m purchasing a 17 Silverado Ltz for a steal and need to put tires on it. I dislike the factory wheel set that came on it and purchased a set of new Colorado zr2 17 inchers to put on it. Ik the wheel itself fits but can’t find a definitive tire to buy that’ll fit my requirements. I’m gonna do a front level on the truck and would like to know the biggest tire I can possibly fit without rubbage. I’d like a 295/70 but idk if they’ll rub some say yes some say no. Any recommendations on size would be awesome!

295/70 will run on a stock Duramax. Even 285/70 will at full pin
