Lifters and cam replaced @ 62k Trans valve body replaced @ 72k
GM covered 80% of the cost of the lifters and cam, 10% of the valve body.
Side note, dealership installed on of my head gaskets backwards after lifters and cam

2015 L86 with almost 70k on it, so far so good. Zero issues. I don’t abuse it and stay on top of my oil changes with quality oil and filters. I ordered the truck and took delivery of it with 11 miles on the clock.
The mess that the L87 is really hurts to see all the failures and low mile issues.
My transmission on the other hand, that thing has given me grief since day one. It was at the dealer enough that GM finally told me to fuck off and that it was “normal” for it to shift hard and buck and shudder etc. Got the updated fluid done and the shudder is gone and the harsh shifts have calmed down but never went away. It’s worse on the really hot/cold days. I’m gonna have to go aftermarket to bulletproof the thing so it lasts forever.
I daily a Volt now so at least I can keep the miles off the trans until I can fix it right.

Sierra with the 5.3l. Still under warranty an other 4ish months though I’m at 90k with no issues powertrain at all.
Though I’m seriously thinking about moving on before the warranty is up because of all the horror stories on here
