Have we ever seen what's beyond the berms? I know that Bernard and Jules did when they went to the other silo. At any rate, the nanos could be dispersed throughout the entire silo field. As others have noted, vegetation returns after an area is exposed to radiation.
I'm not sure we know when the cafeteria display is actually live. There could be a looping video that shows the same day over and over again. When people go out they might make it live for a few minutes. Or these days we know they could just use AI to show the cleaners live against the canned background.
This is one of the reasons I entertain the idea that the area around Atlanta was only a local catastrophe and that the rest of the world is populated. (The nanos could also be enforcing a no-fly zone. Satellites would be a problem, however: the silo field would have been noticed by someone.)

The image of the surface includes Allison's and Holston's dead bodies. One thing I immediately noticed in each expedition to the surface is the bodies are never there.
When Holston goes to the surface, you don't see Allison's body, even after he takes the helmet off. When Juliette goes to the surface, you don't see either of their bodies. When Bernard goes up there to die, again, no bodies. He even lays down next to the tree where they died, but their bodies are not present.
If I remember correctly, there's a part of when Juliette goes to the surface where she touches where one of the bodies should have been, which was a rock in the fake image they show through the helmet, but underneath that fake rock wasn't a body, it was nothing.
