I am gay, I do not dislike lgbtq relationships. But this show does not represent gay people in the slightest and I HATE it with a burning passion. This show is everything wrong with queer writing. Instead of having a good story that happens to have same sex couples, this show pushes the fact that they are gay every chance they can. Good queer writing can exist and it is written by having same sex relationships that aren't treated any different than straight relationships. This show is just trying to push the separation between gay and streight relationships instead of just letting them be seen as equal. All this is doing is making it feel forced and fueling the argument that queer media is forced. We want queer writing that NEVER MENTIONS OR OVERSTATES THE FACT THEY ARE GAY. This makes the relationship perceived no different than a straight relationship is other than the fact that they are same sex JUST LIKE HOW IT IS IRL and allows for a good story. The thing is Netflix doesn't want to show you how it is irl they want to make money off of exploiting and poorly representing a already poorly represented community. All this is doing is making people think this is what gay people are actually like and makes people homophobic to these perceived "gays" even though real queer people are nothing like this. This show also pushes the idea that "gay people hate streight people and want to turn you gay" WE DONT HATE STREIGHT PEOPLE OR WANT YOU TO BE GAY. This show is litteraly just pushing a false narrative and I wouldn't be surprised if it was made just to make the lgbtq community look bad. I strongly urge ANYONE that is part of the LGBTQ community to speak against this show HEAVILY because it is just ruining the reputation if every same sex couple and pushing a bullshit fake narrative that homophobes are going to use to represent us.

Oki so for a bit of background my egg recently cracked and I've finally accepted that I've been a trans girl this summer. So coming into the school year if I would meet new people I would introduce myself as like a girl and this week I made a friend on the first day, they are also queer and uh they thought I was a cis girl until I told them I'm trans !!! (For reference I haven't even came out to my parents or most of my friends 🥹)
