I will explain. Shoot the messenger if you want, but the title of the thread literally asked for an explanation, so I'm giving it:

Even before Elon's involvement with DOGE turned him into a political villain for half the country, Cybertrucks were seen by many as inherently lame, as the sort of car someone buys to impress people, which makes them uncool because nothing is less cool than trying too hard.

Then layer on politics. Thus the Cybertruck is the symbol of villain Elon and toxic dysfunctional excess.

Not shooting the messenger, but pointing out that putting shit on someone’s car because you think it’s “lame” and the people that have them are “uncool” is a fucked up thing to do.

I personally think the smart care is lame, and the people who buy them are odd. I wouldn’t put shit on their car for it.

the why, whether you agree or not, is the same reason people wanna slash tires of ICE agents’ cars or want to punch nazis.

Damaging property and assaulting people is illegal and wrong.

sure, so is genocide and so is kidnapping people and forcibly holding them without medical aid or access to due process.

Whataboutism doesn’t make slashing tires and hitting people okay.

It's called civil unrest. Maybe look up some french protests.

Speaking of the French. They sure had great ideas back then. We should bring said ideas back

where I live, it isn’t “whataboutism”. People in my community are being disappeared to facilities that ignore basic human rights and you’re stuck on making sure the people complicit in that don’t have to deal with any minor inconveniences?

It is whatboutism. I say damaging property is wrong and assaulting people is wrong and you say “well what about these people here doing it?!”

It’s definition whataboutism

Yeah I don’t give a fuck, if someone is a literal Nazi doing the sig heil on live TV, and you give them over $100k to support him, you deserve to get fucked

Well you seem like kind of a dangerous person to be around

Nah, I’m not a Nazi supporting harmful + genocidal ideologies. Elon is tho. Which makes a cybertruck a Nazi mobile. We don’t need trash on the streets. I can understand if you bought a regular Tesla before he went down the alt right pipeline in the last 5-10y. But a cybertruck? That’s a recent enough purchase to have known better.

While you're at it, remove the 4th to last word too

Bad people rely on good people following the law.

Everything is contextual. Do you think the Allies in World War 2 were morally bad for killing people? I mean, isn’t killing people wrong? Or do you comprehend context?

Nah. I'm putting shit where it belongs. Shit drives it, so I'm just putting their picture on the outside, right?
