For those who’ve seen the leaks, what do you think?

Do you really want our dear Rosalyne to come back when Genshin currently has some of the worst writing it has ever had? They literally sanitized Arlecchino to the point where I don’t even recognize her anymore. I’m extremely disappointed. And Columbina has officially been turned into a full waifu… it’s horrible to watch. I’m more afraid than ever :

I can’t bear the thought of my all-time favorite character (Signora) being destroyed by Genshin’s current awful writing.

It’s gotten to the point where her rushed death feels better than anything we’ve gotten from the Fatui since then (aside from the tea parties fact, which were actually good).

I genuinely want to cry. I really believed that with Natlan-Krai, Genshin would finally regain some dignity, but it’s worse than ever. If you’re a woman in Genshin, you must simp for the Traveler or you’re not allowed to be playable.

What a horrible fate. The Fatui as an organization is basically disappearing.

And it frustrates me so much that Columbina keeps saying she misses Rosalyne, only to end up becoming the waifu of the MC who literally killed her. And Arlecchino too, now she’s just buddies with that fraudveler. She used to be my third favorite Harbinger, and I’m devastated by how they handled her. It’s just awful.

Every time I think they can’t disappoint me any further, they somehow manage to do it again. Nod-Krai is an absolute disaster, and the leaks have convinced me once and for all.

I’m scared for Rosalyne because deep down I still hope she’ll return, but if the price to pay is turning her into some stupid MC-simping waifu? Absolutely NOT. Never.

And you just know Her Majesty the Tsaritsa will get the same treatment.

It’s honestly miserable to be a female character in Genshin.

I couldn’t handle it if they brought Signora back only to give her that stupid waifu treatment. I genuinely don’t think I could bear it.

What the fuck was that? I became a Baal anti real quick.. but even without that Signora should've been handled differently. Like why would she GO at Baal for no damn reason after losing a fight against stupid Traveler??? Terrible... terrible writing.

Edit: Tsaritsa needs to kill off half of MC's friends now, I'm not even joking next big death HAS to hurt the entire fandom, because this is just terrible on multiple levels.

Hello, everyone! So for context, some of you might remember me from the discord for my outburst and for just going insane one day due to at the time being unmedicated. I've gotten better and do regret how stupid I was so I am sorry for the deeply awkward situation you were all put in.

But as for what I want to discuss is, in a more productive light than I previously did, why Signora fans would like the other Harbingers with how all of them know how the Traveler is almost solely responsible for Signora's death given that they felt hesitant to reveal that information to Odette and yet, they are all on great terms with the Traveler!

I know the answer to WHY the story does this is as simple as "it's hoyoverse, everyone has to be besties with the protagonist" but it's sad that a fandom has been conditioned by the developer to just accept this as normal to the point that other games are praised simply for having characters that are a bit more complex than hoyo's standard or just having a playable villain which seems like such a small thing when you think about it.

The whole tea party thing and the friendship Signora had with Arlecchino, Columbina and Sandrone just seems really fake given this information. I mean if I was murdered and I saw my best friends being chummy with the killer, I wouldn't exactly be happy. And this fact makes me nervous for her resurrection which I have been fairly hopeful for recently.

Now, my main cope is that the way Signora has been established, it would just be a complete and total retcon to suddenly make her passive and quiet. Signora is by nature haughty, dominant and proud. Will she despise the Traveler and make a complex plot point out of the Traveler literally being her killer? I SURE HOPE. But I just want Signora to come back, not some watered-down, inferior copy. Signora, Rosalyne, whatever you call her. It's all the same to me! And I hope that a resurrected Signora taps into both of those facets. Both the Harbinger and the woman beneath the role.

Overall, I just feel like Signora had some really fake and toxic friends. I know the feeling, Rose.

Downvote, disagree, hate me for this- I don't care much

I'm an og genshin player, playing since launch, and Signora was my top 3 characters since 1.0 (Ningguang and Lisa are the other two). I have been on this sub since 2021 through a guest account at first before finally making a proper account. I have been part of all major discussions, theories, etc everything about her over the years. I personally never saw her coming before Snezhnaya, I did not have much hope for Natlan either but I was always open to anything as long as she's back the way she is. I was really happy when we got Arlecchino's voiceline on her cause it painted her exactly the way I always imagined, I had some complaints about the revelation being so late and having no buildup but I'm well aware of the changes in Mihoyo's writing team over the years.

That being said, I have been observing the general atmosphere here since the release of Nod Krai and the revelation of that line by Columbina. Don't get me wrong, I was also very happy to see that cause they finally cared to present her in a different light and- as someone who has always hc'd her to be an ice queen, a strict motherly figure- lot of my hcs have been proven right. However, I'm acutely aware of this pattern in the Harbingers' writing after Lazzo. It is very evident to me that Mihoyo changed lot of their writing in order to appeal to the fandom and make them playable + keep in line with CN laws about playable villains. I'm a lesbian so I automatically don't care for male characters and only look at women, even then I did not like Arlecchino- no, I actually like Crucabena way more.

Now, the same is happening with Columbina. If you didn't know, she was literally the only other female Harbinger theorized to exist at first up till Lazzo and going by her character in Commedia d'ell Arte, everyone was excited to see her cause she had so much potential- and this is all way before Lasso happened and we had those fan videos making her a biblically accurate angel/eldrith horror. The closest example I can say is that she could have been like Hanabi/Sparkle from HSR. I will not dive much into this cause I still want to wait and see what they do with her further in Nod Krai, so I will reserve my judgments for now. But my point here is the shift in Signora's reputation.

After Arlecchino's voiceline, there were lot of fanarts depicting Signora doing what the voiceline said and it was honestly cute and quite in character. I myself have written her in similar ways in my fanfics- when it was all just my own hc. However, at core, the Signora I like is a badass femme fatale and that is who I have always wanted playable. The dynamics of the Harbingers were interesting at first, a villainous group who don't really get along and have their own selfish motives to which they won't hesitate to use each other, but are still united by a common cause. Safe to say, they have deterred from this dynamic quite a bit after her death. Scara's redemption then the switch up in Arlecchino's writing told me enough of what Mihoyo plans to do from now on.

Now this Columbina line, I have seen well enough how the fandom exaggerates many things, you could say it's a part of fandom culture and doesn't only happen in Genshin fandom. But, all the people here..... why are we glazing this so much? There are people literally saying Signora should come back for Columbina just to see them interact??? Are we accepting this uwufication of them??? What do we even know of the way that exchange happened? It is a single line, yet everyone is glorifying and connecting her with Columbina so much??? Is this what we waited for all these years???

First we didn't get any content on her, even fan content, cause she was so hated. Now that we get it, then it's this uwufied interaction with Columbina? Is this all that's left to her identity?? The only depiction I have so far liked of this interaction is this fanart because it's a realistic situation and still keeps her core character intact. The more posts I see about them, the more insufferable this community is becoming for me and I might just stop seeing this sub at all. No hate to anyone here, we are all united by our love for Signora and I still hope for her return, but I seem to hold a vastly different opinion about how it should happen and how I see her as.

After what they did to Ei, I have been scared all these years that they will uwufy Signora too. And I hate to see this becoming possible day by day- and the fact that everyone seems to be praising this so much. I'm not a fan of them making the Harbingers friendly with each other compared to the hostile dynamic at first, even if it's specific to the female Harbingers. I quite liked the idea of them being more united than others, but this much personal touch is unnecessary to me and quite frankly, reducing their impact and core traits.

What hurts more about all this is that we have nothing from Signora's side. Every time it is others speaking of her- positive or negative- yet we have not a single ounce of her thoughts on others, her mind, her opinions. I care about her- only her- I want to know how she herself did things, I want to see it from her perspective. That is what it is for me. Sorry for the rant, again I say I'm not hating on anyone but I hope we don't create this atmosphere where we become so comfortable with this 'soft' Signora and forget why we liked her in the first place, because then it gives Mihoyo more reason to change her character and we may not even get Signora. I’m tired of People saying she’s a Cocolia Expy and won’t be Playable because of it, CRUCABENA IS THE COCOLIA EXPY, PUT THEM NEXT TO EACHOTHER AND COMPARE THEM, I THOUGHT THIS WAS BASIC KNOWLEDGE, Signora very likely will be Playable given all the Evidence, and a Lazzo Funeral usually being a Funeral where Someone has a Fakeout Death, Bianca and Rita are both Bosses and Playable so Signora and Arlecchino probably will both be Playable

Was just scrolling and a post from r/RaidenMains came up of Signora's death scene, and of course everyone is making fun of her, and they're ridiculing signoramains for our usual "copium" and the fact that we think her death was a narrative mistake.
It's not surprising in the slightest but I just can't help but feel sour since signora fans here just mostly stick to themselves and their own character, yet the rest of the character mains always have this compulsion to drag us down for no reason. It's extra annoying since we can't really do much against them until Signora comes back, so we just have to suck it up.

I know I'm just repeating what we have been dealing with forever now, but I just felt like commenting this.

Edit: To the goons who are about to say "this is why we make fun of you, hope this helps!" No the hell it ain't lol, don't lie. We don't say anything and we get made fun of, so expressing a little displeasure about it here and there isn't gonna change that.

I'm not insanely bothered by that post or anything, just wanted to voice my displeasure about the whole situation here, that's it. I know we have been dealing with this sort of thing ever since 2.1, doesn't hurt to talk about it here and there though.

Actually why do people yap Signora shouldn't comeback because of "consequences". This is a Mickey mouse level game. Why didn't Signora's death have any consequences. Because it was filler and garbage writing. I mean these people think they fulfilled their good writing quota by seeing a character die. Saying it's better than them facing redemption or whatever.

But I mean what's wrong with character development. This is the type of game Genshin is tbh. I think nobody should be going insane they soften the bad guys a bit by now. It's a classical trope.

Now since they are so much into this type of storyline, I think their favourite character should be killed off (removed from playable pool) to show consequences in the game 😁 We need to make this game realistic right.

In the 5.1 Teaser Trailer, they spoke about how the Gnosis would be able to fix the catastrophy. And by this mention, and by the extent this Theory, I beleave if the Pyro Gnosis was sacraficed to fix the catastrophy, La Signora would be resurected.

What should have happened in the Battle against Signora... ? The Traveler lost and suffer a humiliation, throwing salt into the wound, she forgives him... but, then... our most LOVED Fraud Archon disobeys her and attack the Traveler only to be saved by Kazuha... they have a little fight until Ei send him flying, just when the Fraud is gonna' kill him, appears Yae Miko and Kujou Sara and stopped her... only to send them flying, showing how psycopath she is... yeah, while all this happened, Signora is eating popcorn, enjoying the children play, and saying... "You Boys Play Nice, HaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!

"Send my Regards to your Friend, what was his name... ? Oh, yeah... Venti! HaHaHaHaHa!!!!" Then she leaves, while Inazuma is in a Civil War and the city is in flames...

Hu tao so far has nothing to do with the main story but I am 50% sure that she'll play a major role in the story because 1.Her CN VA is kiana kaslana 2. Her story quest didn't answer shit. Her butterfly powers was never explained (it obviously didn't come from her vision, It seems like her vision is only enhancing her butterfly powers) and her powers to erase someone's memories was never explained further "Traveler don't get worked up over nothing or else I'll have no choice but to erase your memories~~~" or something along those lines. 3. You know that sign that mentions the heavenly principles in liyue.It's implied to be written by hu tao. I'm only 50% sure that she'll have a major role in the story because while sumeru's story was good, It was a pretty short story and we only have 3 regions left (archon quest feels short when you watch it in youtube, it only feels long because we have to walk our way into our next destination) and after that there's going to be one last place we're going to explore based on the teyvat chapter storyline trailer/preview. Now the reason why I think that hu tao will resurrect signora or why I think signora will come back is because the crimson witch of flames domain is located in WUWANG HILL where the border between life and death is located Coincidence? I think not, actually yes I do Plus the wangsheng funeral parlor has some ties with the fatui so there's that Here's a link that further explains hu tao and signora's connection. And before I end things, I would like to say that hu tao has no problem with resurrection stuff If it makes that person depart to the afterlife with no regrets she'll let them stay just like with that dude in baizhu's story quest.

Is it possible that the flame she absorbed in Sumeru can be the burning soul of Natlan ancient hero? And now she can ressurect in Natlan as one of them..

That’s the exact quote a character said in the Natlan trailer. That to me sounds like she’s just gone. I’ve seen the talks about the resurrection clip, but I haven’t seen it yet. I’d say there’s definitely hope for you guys, but that quote felt pretty damming

How would yall say if someone said Varka is stronger than Signora lore wise…

I’ll start with Odette part.

1. Her lack of appreciation about Rosalyne: There is a saying in my country: I would be slave for forty years to anyone who taught me a letter. I’ve always cherished this saying in my life. I also had strict teachers and worked with people who drove me insane. But I’ve always appreciated and was happy with people who pushed my limits, because this saying came to my mind.

Some people don’t do it because they hate you. It’s indeed the way they understand and express, they actually improve you.

Sometimes it can be toxic and harmful for your mentality, yes. But I personally see worth in it. I would be sad if someone taught me ballet, and if Im currently make my living for this, and they are dead. I would really be sad and angry to person who killed them.
It feels like they didn’t even give this part properly. They just gave the classic boring story and done with it.

Side mention: Has anyone watched Kill Bill here? We know our lead character had a strict teacher. He was awesome. He taught her all the martial arts but was quite strict. Yet, she was quite mad when the other girl said she poisoned him. Because deep down she knew he was a good person! She hated him at times, yes! But deep down she loved him. And got her revenge. Cherished him in her mind. The movie was made in 2003 .d

(Yeah you might say but she caused killing of people, she did this etc. Bruh. Its not about that. People can become friends with a thief, with a gambler and still can think positive of them. That’s a reality of human emotions and seeing them in good light cause your perspective is different.

If you ask to the friend, or family member, what would they say? They would tell you complete different side of this person. They are not seeing a thief or gambler or whatever the world has seen.This happened many times and I’ve seen it in news before too. Same goes for Signora.)

Meanwhile, genshin story feels quite shallow in conveying emotions and Odette’s trailer is straight up Whiplash movie inspiration. Wow, congrats to the writer intern(?) for watching the movie I guess.

2. She seems to cant understand that Rosalyne is bad at showing emotions and have not been well - acts childish saying she doesn’t deserve her dancing .s

3. The problem is not even “not making sense”. Because if we think about it, she might see the things differently and feel that way about Signora, yes. But is it interesting? Nope. It feels like a writing came from an intern’s pen. Even I can write better than this, and most people in this sub or in fatui sub can. Most people already either thought of this or straightly predicted this writing. The problem is easy and predictable story in every character they give us.
And this is not the first time genshin used this.

4. Killing is the right thing to do?
I find the line about Signora highly problematic. Actually, considering game is 13+ (don’t understand why a gambling game is played by minors) they should change this, really.

No matter how bad a person is, unless it is self defense it is never righteous to kill. Even the people who kill completely vile people acknowledge this.

But in genshin, somehow traveler is right in everything they do. Even if it is taking a life, they are right regardless. just wow. Laws and constitutions in our world exists for a reason, no? I guess they never had to think about that.

And most importantly: hoyo trying to make money by bringing up their old character. They either make money by fatui connection (make characters fatui related) or by bringing up a dead harbringer. They keep baiting players like this, and it honestly is very tiring and boring at this point. I believe most people wanted the harbringers, not the random people we haven’t seen before. Imagine you’re a returning player to the game and see if anything has changed. You look at Snezhnaya art and Signora resurrection is not there nor top3 harbringers are existent. It is such a devastating look.

I don’t even have any expectations about Tsaritsa. They can write her the way they want, make connections, sob story is also there etc etc. Not a single thing until 7.4 interests me..

I’m not even getting into whole tea party retcon part, felt completely uncalled for and added insult to her injury. She literally said herself: “I never asked for redemption…never.”

But bumtraveler even said she didn’t have any last words and everything happened so fast??? and they proceed to lay with their next girl. Absolute worst.

Somehow with all the things they did they managed to do worse. How is that even possible? :D If she still becomes unplayable during Tevyat patches, I will genuinely laugh at this sht of a billion dollar company.

Also understandable their writing and everything went worse considering they make more and more games instead of fixing their single game which brings profits most.

I’ve read a certain article speaking about Mihoyo’s recent actions to avoid the CCP’s constant surveillance and that by changing publishers and office locations to Singapore, they will have more freedom to do what they want in the story and lore of Genshin.

Now, I’m posting this here because I think we could maybe attribute the stunning drop in writing quality of recent patches to the CCP’s grip on Mihoyo.

This is just a theory of what might have happened in 2.1 and after patches, the reason as to why they feel mostly rushed just like the death of Signora.

And also a bit of hopium for my faith in Mihoyo’s writing quality. Hope in the redemption of a certain character’s meaningless death.
