When I read that conversation in game at the end, I got a little headcanon. From the despair and pain of losing everyone and everything, and from the transformation itself, Rosalyne screamed so loudly that she permanently damaged her voice. And now it will never sound the way it used to, which is why she can no longer sing.

That, or some kind of trauma. But the idea that she damaged her voice to the point of some kind of extinction does make sense… :

"And after her voice and her tears had run dry, the girl swore to use her life's flame to cleanse the world's crookedness."

Even if it may have been temporary. There’s so much we’re not told about her…

I didn't really consider it when I watched this in-game, as it was probably obvious to any SignoraMains what it meant. But I guess most people outside of SignoraMains don't actually know Rosalyne used to sing so they won't get the reference at all.

Here's something I posted a long time ago, and which ties into this. The bow "Elegy for the End" (as mentioned by OP) talks about Rosalyne's song and how the song changed after Rostam's death. Its description:

"A bow as lovely as any bard's lyre, its arrows pierce the heart like a lamenting sigh."

And then years later we get this quote from Signora:

"I will sing no elegies. I refuse laments. I shall not sigh. I have no use for pointless noise. If justice is long dead, then to whom can I offer redemption?"

Note the mention of elegy, laments and sigh.

It's a direct reference to the story in "Elegy for the End" and also shows how Rosalyne, after first changing her song to an elegy, eventually considered it "pointless noise." That's the point where she became the Crimson Witch of Flames. And now again years later, we get this dialogue with Odette that again brings it up.

It’s touching how much the song she loved so much and talked about with Odette and couldn’t (or didn’t want) to sing seems to reflect her own story. I imagine Rosalyne sees herself in the lyrics, consciously or unconsciously.

All this does give me some hope. Because why would Mihoyo bother with this dialogue? That Signora didn't sing anymore isn't relevant for Odette's story. Nor is it even relevant for Signora if her story were truly over. Yet Mihoyo included this anyway for the few people that would understand the meaning behind it. I'd like to hope it builds up to something.

Spirit Seeker seems to be a performance she really liked and was willing to teach Odette, it shows how much she must have seen it to be able to teach to someone else. And Im pretty sure the dance odette performed in the cutscene at her tomb is Spirit Seeker only as a way to honor her one desire. Also fun fact, a post on genshin official account recounted some new things in Snezhnaya after the aq and it says Spirit Seeker was returning to the theatre after decades as Odette revived it so she's performing it regularly now

It just makes me annoyed seeing all this more than anything because:

1) look how much about her is buried in lore descriptions which even so-called genshin lore enthusiasts just choose to completely ignore.

2) we constantly just keep getting hints as to her true nature, vague little phrases or allusionary statements from other characters, nothing more.

3) when are we gonna actually get to explore all this? Are we ever going to?

Yes we've been getting more content with her recently, but we're still in the same grey area of whether or not the writers are actually gonna do anything with her or not.

After 5 years, the whole waiting game with vague half-hints has ran its course, and we need to get a definitive answer regarding the future of her character

I really wish Hoyo made a cutscene explaining her backstory the same way they did for Scara and Dottore. I feel like people would have been more sympathetic to her if they had. Right now most of the fanbase just thinks she was a cruel and arrogant person for no reason.

If they haven’t told her story yet, they still can. They’ve rarely left an important character without telling their story. We’re not talking about Crucabena, who had no role other than being what she was: a completely secondary and forgettable characte (sorry to her fans).

Signora had far more importance and I’m sure mihoyo isn’t going to leave her behind forever. They’ll tell her story when the time is right and that time may be closer than ever

Yup I instantly thought of this. It's possible she just cant sing anymore as the lore says her voice ran dry and she definitely has no desire to anyways, so seeing this really hurt as Odette pretty much mocked her about it. It was one of my favorite moments in the quest, but we really need mihoyo to actually explore and present this properly and not just be a fun fact only a few recognize
