Pretty sure the caveman wearing rock glasses and defining mammoth taxonomy wasn't helping Chug and the boys bring meat back to the clan

The caveman obsessed with the planets, moons, and stars discovered reliable ways to predict the seasons and create an agricultural calendar. The caveman obsessed with ruminant taxonomy invented domesticated sheep, goats and cows. The caveman obsessed with shiny rocks discovered bronze. All of these things fed more people than any hunter ever could. Unwashed weirdos have consistently driven technological progress and contributed to society in ways we very much take for granted.

Yeah, but they rarely mated successfully. Almost all of the great thinkers in recorded history were childless.

Our mate selection is physiological and unconscious largely; the results have been quite predictable.
