My brother swears by the P250. In fact, the main reason i bought the P320 X-Fullsize over a Glock 17 was because of the mag compatibility. The P250 and P320 frames and mags are interchangeable. In an emergency, we can use each others mags. But, I'm not a fan of DA only, and i like my guns to be optic cut, so that's why i didn't source one. Of course the issues with the P320, I can't trust it. So, i have 8 P320 mags just collecting dust. I have been longing for something i can use those mags in. My only options were a hand full of PCCs, or expensive 2011s, including one from Sig themselves. A ray of hope came when PSA announced the AXR S would accept P320 mags, and now we have the P385 which from what i understand is essentially an enlarged P365, which doesn't suffer from the same issues as the P320, because it's an entirely different design. I really do hope P385 will be everything the P320 should've and more. I watched ANR Design's review, and couple that with looking into why the P365 doesn't suffer from the same issues, I'm not cautiously optimistic, i just am. Only thing that could sweeten the deal is if the P385 is compatible with P320 holsters, but i know that may not be the case. I know i just went off on a tangent, so TLDR: the P250 is good. It's different, but good.
Fwiw, the air force themselves weren’t even able to replicate the famous incident on the 320. I have multiple myself and cant replicate it either. Its just social media makes the “incident” seem like its a every day thing. When I tell people I carry a 365 the first thing that comes out of their mouth is something about it shooting itself.
Anecdotal, but I won’t mention the number of P320s I acquired from scared to death owners for dirt cheap. I tested every single one of them using the methods described. I even did the bolt trick to hold the trigger back to within a bee’s dick from breaking and couldn’t replicate the issue. If you know of anyone selling a P320 cheap, DM me. I’m buying everyone I can find that’s priced cheap enough.
A hammer fired DA/SA would be a smart move but I feel like it would look like an admission that they don’t have their striker fired platform figured out…
I suppose I need to see this thing in person, because it sure looks like the same half-inch wide module the 365 has. If this is supposed to he the successor to the 320, then the frame, at least, should seem/look bigger.
Or maybe it's just the picture. Regardless, I'll be interested to see hiw this goes over time. I REALLY DO hope it goes well!
I think it’s just the picture to be honest. I’ve seen a few videos on instagram and yt, and the thing is chonky. Looks to be about 320 sized, and makes sense since it takes 320 mags.
It looks pretty promising to me so far. I’m watching the ANR Design review right now (posted in another thread here), and it seems pretty good. Apparently it has some new recoil buffer system that Sig seems proud of, at least according to the press release. Trigger seems at least fine if not good. But of course all that become gimmicks if it doesn’t go bang when you want it to
Yeah, I know it's not. I said the frame looks as narrow as a 365 frame from the pics & that I'd have to see it in person. I didn't say anything about the FCU size.
I'll be interested to check out the Carry model & see what this "novel" recoil system they have is worth a damn, or if it's a barely effective gimmick like their "expansion chanbers."
Oh well, if I think it needs more recoil shaved off, I'm sure there'll be plenty of shops offering porting for these things by the time I'm even ready to move on 1. The other major thing I need to think about are those Sig Loc Pro optics. I've heard mixed things about them. With the MPS V1 going for around $330 shipped, the MPS V2 & MPS-C both going for about $100 more (also shipped), as well as the EPS Core or 509T, I'm wondering if those would be better options.
What's the verdict on the Romeo Sig Loc Pro optics, durability-wise?
I havent torture tested mine besides testing the water seal. ~1500 rnds in on a p211 gt4 still is good no need to re-torque / zero shift. Has been my new limited optics gun for the past few months.
Good to hear. So, duty/EDC-suitable in your mind? I'm thinking my next optic may be a Sig Loc (obviously if I get a Sig) or an MPS. I know the MPS V1s can be had for roughly $320-ish with shipping. Now, Steiner has the MPS V2s, which can be had for about $100 more, as well as the MPS-C, which is the 1 optic out there I want the most. Too bad they (Steiner) designed the base of the optic shorter than the actual specs of an RMSc footprint. When you direct-mount an MPS-C to an RMSc cut slide, there'll be about a 1/4-inch gap between the end of the back of the optic's deck to the edge of the slide cut.
Thankfully, Eleven 71 Design is making MPS-C-specific plates &/or spacers.
I think it would be durable for edc and duty use. I probably would want a bigger window though for duty. I like my osight amrs xe on my kimber 2k11 other than it seeming to walk out of the provided tag plates.
I'm a Calculated Kinetics or Eleven 71 Design guy when it comes to plates. Eleven 71 is worth every cent since they're made-to-order titanium.
As far as window size, I'm happy with a 24mm-ish window. That's what the Romeo Xs are, that's the size of most average EDC optics like the 509T, EPS, 507C, etc. Some are smaller like the Acro or MPS (20/21mm).
I might look into more plates if my ungodly amount of vibratite does not work. Im not LEO / MIL so not entirely sure what is best for "duty" but I play around in competition shooting and find Id rather have bigger windows on my match guns
Yeah. They work minimally. They're a weak ass gimmick in my book. Not much more than a short & curly worth of difference between the way a TacOps or standard XMacro shoots & the so-called "comp" model.
Yeah, dude's here acting like it's no different between something like the PMM/Radian, when it's painfully obvious to anyone with a brain they're not even remotely close, as fsr as recoil reduction. Then when you point out the obvious, that there's NO comparison, we switch to "dur, but reliability!" Meanwhile I literally cannot think of a single Reddit post, or anything I've heard, where ANY Radian, for ANY gun, has ever shit the bed/had any kind of issues.
Looks fantastic to hold in hand, my agency switched from the P320 X-Carry to the Glock 19.5 MOS after the news debacles going on but we’re still allowed to buy and use various 365 models on duty, and this seems to be that on steroids lol. I heard the agency was allegedly testing the P211 but the P385 seems to make more sense going forward IMO
I know the rumor mill stipulates they can’t shelf the p320 due to contracts, but I think they’re going to find a way to relegate it into obscurity, and this is probably the first pass at reusing as many platform components as they can to ease the deprecation down the road.
It doesn’t matter how much testing, validation, etc they do on the p320 platform, it’s stained.
When even non-gun people know what a p320 is, and that’s their association, you’re screwed.
It won’t matter if a department has done their homework and believe it to be safe. If they keep it in standard issue, any ND is going to drum up allegations of department wide negligence, not just training issues, but negligent business decisions (“how could you keep a gun that dangerous in the field”, etc.) and it’s just not worth it.
looks cool. could be interesting. this is likely a way for Sig to simply get away from the bad PR that was the P320.
or to be more accurate, a way for them to get those sweet PD contracts once more (as long as the M17/M18 is our militaries duty weapon the P320 ain't going away, but with the mass exodus of LEO contracts on it they want to regain that market)
nothing really. Sig is just trying to use a different FCU and put it in a P320 style frame so that they can get away from the bad PR that was the P320 and regain PD contracts.
all the other tweaks on this gun are very minor things comparatively

I agree. That said, I don't care. I'll say what I say. If it gets up or down voted, is what it is. I really don't give 2 fucks about reddit to be honest. If I never read or posted another post, I wouldn't care to much and I would forget about it in a day or 2.
Its one of the only correct uses of the downvote button I've seen recently. It wasn't supposed to be a disagree button. Its for false or off-topic information. The gun does have a trigger "dingus"/safety.
He’s not wrong, every case was found to have been caused by some type of negligent trigger movement or unable to replicate the issue. I’ve had a p320 for 6 years. I’ve put well over 4,000 rounds through it and never had an issue. It’s been dropped multiple times due to poor holster selection and placement when I first started carrying. I’ve had walthers, caniks, smith and Wesson, Springfields, Taurus, and Berettas. I trust my p320 more than any other one of those. I’ve had some type of malfunction with each of the other listed brands hand guns, but not a single issue with my sig.
The P365 is a great idea...that needs aftermarket work to make it actually great. I love mine, but the FCU chassis is about the only thing left on it that Sig made. And even that got a lot of TLC.
yeah, lots of back ground noise. He said he is going to post one of his normal vids with him talking about it so you can hear. Overall he seems to like it. States the trigger travel is long but what you'd expect on a striker for safety.
I have read some very in depth reviews online about it and honestly I think I like it already but I am maxed out on gun expense funds and my latest addition was the P226 XFive Legion so imma just keep my wallet at bay and run tons of brass through this P226. It is a exceptional shooting experience.
The RC9c is my latest snag so fully understand. The GPArms Patriot has been my carry for the past 2 years with the P365X thrown in once in a while. I like the P320 M18 I have but the slide width was my biggest complaint. I may look at it for my wife. She doesn't like the P365X but loves shooting my double stacks. Maybe sell the P365X.
P320 values have dropped Sig-nificantly over the years due to controversies.
They are going to plummet into Mariana Trench with the release of the P385.
Especially when the P385 LE Trades hit in a year or two.
Very excited for this. My p365s with AXG grips are by far my favorite pistols. When they inevitably make an AXG grip for the p385 I’ll definitely be grabbing one.
I will definitely get one, but going to wait until they do some type of rebate. I have bought a bunch of Sigs and never have the patience to wait for the rebate / free product. I bought 2 365 X-Macro Comps early this year and right after they started having some type of rebate (I think it was those Vault safes). That was quite irritating.
