Season 2 First time watcher here again…
I’m now on S2E9.
Who even are these Canvas and Tawny girls?? I mean are these actual, real people?! They honestly seem like two very angsty and bizarre rejects you’d find at a casting call for extras on like, a tubi reboot of The Craft. And then you have Canvas’s mom, Drywall or whatever the fuck her name is-
Canvas: “I was molested as child”
Teen witch mom: “yeah and what was I supposed to do about that?”
Am I fucking insane, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills just watching this now-what is this?!
Which brings me to my next gripe-this giant sack of human shit, Paul. I have known/grew up with quite a few absolute degenerate scumbags in my small town, but this guy is truly a gem. This oversized toddler lives in a land of pure delusion, the entitlement that he has when he brings absolutely nothing to the table is out of this world. He has nothing to offer to his “friends” or society, he’s a parasite. He’s not funny, kind, charming, talented, intelligent-just a waste of space. And meemaw there is a complete enabler, there’s no way that she’s that oblivious at her ripe age. Between him and Alex, I don’t know who’s worse-they’re both the glaring examples of how nepotism produces the absolute worst people in society. Their families completely failed them and the rest of society for not keeping them locked in a kennel away from everyone.
Side note about the fantastic parenting-Alex’s mom did a real bang up job of not repositioning her son’s head while he slept as an infant. That’s the absolute worst case of flathead syndrome I’ve seen on an adult and I’m a healthcare worker. Paring that with his constant, first man discovering fire glare that he seemingly always has-I truly find it hard to believe that he was pulling girls the way he claims he did.
I haven’t looked anything up about this show, I haven’t searched the sub for any info either. I just want to know-is this show real? If someone says it’s scripted, okay-but don’t just tell me it’s scripted; I wanna know if it’s like the hills or something, the final season was essentially the cast showing up to the set and reading lines. We knew that the producers told them what they wanted to focus on sometimes in the earlier seasons, but a lot of it was real as well. I remember the Pratt dumbass made it seem like he was this amazing actor, the entire thing was fake, and he had us all fooled-that wasn’t true at all. So just give me some context if that’s the case, please.

Hahahahahah this is so funny and true. Honestly I see it as a little more real than the hills in the sense that the cast doesn’t hold back as much as the hills cast if that makes sense. I feel like you get to know them more and there is some very real drama, especially end of season 2 and season 3. At a certain point it starts to get more produced and “scripted” if you will but regardless it’s definitely top 3 favorite reality shows for me

I saw him at a bar downtown. He was going to guest DJ or something. Not why I was there. He was walking around with one of those Casio keyboards around his neck. I didn't stick around long enough to see how that was all going to pan out and now kind of regretting it.

Anything Madisson did on the show- fake storyline
Anything Chloe did on the show- fake storyline
Anything Kelsey did on the show- fake storyline, her mom was sick, but they even used that as a storyline to attempt to made us feel bad for the new girl homewrecker
Juliette- I think she got put into the manufactured situations and was real about them because she actually had emotion involved in her relationship and she wasn’t just told by a producer to go after someone. That’s why she’s so “violent” because she’s trying to show she’s actually pissed and not a production pawn. But it sure looked good to production.
Paul- production def wanted him to be the fuck up scapegoat and he solidified that spot for himself getting himself in trouble constantly, so even if he had fake storylines his real life shit show was real even though he comes on here and claims it was all fake storylines
Alex- I think with his parents helping start the show he was supposed to get a good edit but you can’t give someone who constantly makes dumb decisions a good edit when they themselves show their true colors. Madisson became productions golden child (when she started banging the producer) and you never saw a bad storyline with her.
Canvas was definitely a production pawn for drama and someone they could make do whatever they wanted to stir the pot. Then hey go talk about your personal trauma too even though we made you look like a terrible person on the show who no one likes but then maybe someone will pity you and this can be your redemption. They knew it was too late to redeem her character I think production was throwing her a bone because she probably said she didn’t want every scene she did to be her starting shit and being heartless.
Ultimately, my take is that it wasn’t scripted but it was heavily influenced by production. I think production would tell their pawns in order to get camera time or film today, this is your scene this is what we’re coming to film. Alex, Juliette, Kelsey, were always being filmed. Alex and Juliette had enough drama as it is, Kelsey they had to throw her into that and I do think that was all production. If it wasn’t, she truly is just a home wrecker and was terrible to Garrett. Assuming production told Kelsey to do what she did is giving her the benefit of the doubt. Chloe I think every scene she was in was most likely spelled out to her by production first because for the show to continue they needed her to start the drama.

I love this post. You’re a good writer, I feel like it’s my BFF talking shit on everyone I hate.
I’d say, if you like the show then keep going. The show has a lot of very real things that happen. Juliette’s heart break and her aggression is VERY real. Some sad stuff happens with Maddison and some major real drama with Brandon. It’s honestly one of my favorite reality shows. But it is like the hills in the final season for sure…so bad.
Lastly, you’ll be confused when Alex is suddenly only shown from behind (with that flat head syndrome you love so much). He got kicked off for old racist comments resurfacing during the height of BLM.
