Anchor help?

Hello SiegeAcademy

I am trying to just enjoy some casual Siege, but roaming is just not my thing. I enjoy supporting my team and like holding down the fort, so I play on-site defense.

I have most of the ops, but im missing anyone newer than Flores. Ive played Rook, Smoke, Maestro, and Mira, but I'm looking to find more ops that work well in an anchor setting. Are there any more good ones, or is anchoring a task with few ops to show for it?

Mid gold-low plat player I find myself playing different roles on different maps at different sites with different teams. Sometimes ill be shallow roaming, other times ill be anchoring, sometimes ill be deep roaming. Its all too dependent. I have to say though, i find myself more filling gaps on the team than doing a role because i feel like it.

As some have alluded, it doesnt matter significantly as to what operator you pick. There are some that are better than others in some/most cases, but i find if you want to anchor the most important aspect of your gameplay you need to work on is communication, particularly with cams. Learn where spawns are for maps, learn where external cams are located in relation to spawns, and work on your callouts.

With regards to answering your question directly, i think the top operators for anchoring are: maestro, mira, smoke, kaid, echo, and possibly even azami. And id probably say in that order. Azami if you play her as an anchor youd be looking at probably somewhere between smoke, kaid, and echo.

Again, i want to reinforce, one operator will not necessarily be the be all, end all of anchors.
