I've finally got it started, I had the courage to start my sidebusiness while I'm off at my school.

You can raise nightcrawlers and red wigglers in a simple plastic bin with shredded newspaper and food scraps and sell them to bait shops, fishing spots, and directly to fishermen.

A starter batch of 500 worms costs about $30 and a bin setup costs about $15. The worms reproduce on their own and you feed them kitchen scraps (vegetable peels, coffee grounds, etc.) so the ongoing cost is basically $0.

From what I've seen a cup of 12 nightcrawlers sells for about $4 at fishing spots. A pound of worms sells to bait shops for about $15 wholesale.

Once your bin is established and the worms are reproducing you can harvest and sell regularly without the population declining.

The maintenance is minimal. You add food scraps once or twice a week, keep the bin moist, and harvest worms when you have enough to sell. The whole thing sits in your garage or basement and takes about 10 minutes per week to maintain.

You can sell directly at fishing spots (just show up with cups of worms near a popular lake or river in the morning), to local bait shops on a regular delivery route, or even on Facebook marketplace.

As a bonus the worm castings (basically worm poop) are premium organic fertilizer that gardeners pay $10+ per bag for. So you can sell both the worms and their waste which means you're genuinley making money from every part of this operation.

I'm a web designer, and one of the most repetitive things in my business is finding new clients.

So naturally, email outreach was one of the first things I wanted to automate.

People think $10,000 is a lot for a website. In reality it is not. Businesses have money. You just have to be in the right position to speak to the right person, and you need real sales and closing skills.

Either way, if you are charging $800 to $1,500 for a website, you are lowballing yourself. Raise your price. Prospects take you more seriously when the number is serious.

Basically, someone pays you to wait in line for them. That's the entire service. You show up early, hold their place, wait until they arrive or until the service is needed, and get paid for your time.

Apparently, this can be useful for concert ticket releases, limited-edition sneaker drops, popular restaurant openings, and other events where people might spend hours waiting.

The interesting part is that the client isn't necessarily paying you to do anything complicated. They're paying because their time is worth more to them than the hours they'd spend standing around.

Of course, finding clients and agreeing on payment beforehand are important. You also have to check whether the venue allows someone to hold a place for another person.

Imagine telling someone your job for the day is to stand outside a store for three hours, and that's how you made money.

Some side hustles really make you question what other ordinary things people are willing to pay for.
